What Hiromi Lisa Takada doesn't like about Tokyo Shokudo:
My family of 4 just moved to GA and we were craving authentic Japanese food and we made our way to the restaurant a bit after opening time. The Open sign lights weren 't on but I popped my head in and spoke to them in Japanese and asked if they were open. Then to my surprise, she told me that they are reservation only and continued to ask her if they are reservation only everyday and she said yes, that is correct.I fo... View all feedback.
The sushi at this place is incredibly tasty. They don’t have a website, and the prices you see online might not be correct. It's a lovely little restaurant managed by a husband-and-wife duo, providing fantastic food and outstanding service. The nigiri pieces are bigger than what you're used to, but they're just the right size. Overall, I would give the food a strong 5 out of 5.
What a hidden treasure in Atlanta! The fish is exceptionally fresh, and the service is wonderfully attentive. The wait time can be a bit longer (though still reasonable) since the restaurant is operated by a charming elderly Japanese couple from Tokyo. However, the quality of the food makes it all worthwhile. Food: 5/5
This is undoubtedly the best sushi restaurant in town. They have the freshest and most varied selections I've come across. I was genuinely impressed. It's surprising that there weren't more customers at 8 PM on a Friday. Nonetheless, we will definitely be coming back!
A delightful surprise! The freshness and flavor of the food here are remarkable, and the prices are very reasonable. Be sure to try the Chutoro, Uni, Anago, and O-toro—they're all outstanding choices. Just a heads up, the service can be slow since there are only two staff members, so patience is key. Reservations are necessary, and keep in mind they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (as of July 7, 2023). This spot is truly a hidden gem. Food rating: 5/5.
Tokyo Shokudo in Duluth is a genuine hidden gem. They serve fresh, high-quality sashimi at reasonable prices, even amidst the challenges of the pandemic and rising inflation. This restaurant is ideal for anyone who values authentic Japanese cuisine.
