Was S K at A-hyang a mag?
**COVID Safety:** The restaurant has a decent-sized dining area, with some tables separated for safety.
**Food:** While the flavors may not be the best, the portion sizes are incredibly generous—absolutely massive!
**Atmosphere:** The vibe is casual, perfect for a quick meal. This isn't the place for a fine dining experience or exceptional service. You come here primarily for the quantity, which, despite not being gourmet, isn't too bad in taste.
What Yeji Han dislikes about A-hyang:
-Food came in very late at different times-The packet that had the utensils were dirty-The tonkatsu was a carb party. I left feeling like throwing up once I ate the food.-The interior can be improved doesn’t feel much clean or better than other Korean restaurants around- The side dishes were decent.
The food here is delicious and reasonably priced compared to many other Korean restaurants. The ownership has changed hands a few times, but the menu has remained fairly consistent. It's definitely worth a visit if you're looking for something beyond just the typical tofu soup. Rating: 5/5.
First, we had the JAEYUK BOKKEUM, which was meant for three people and served in a large iron pan. It featured generous portions of sliced pork stir-fried with a significant amount of onions, although other vegetables were barely noticeable. While the pork was flavorful, the lack of more varied vegetables, aside from a few green peppers, was a bit disappointing. Next, we tried the HAEMUL SUNDUBU, a tofu stew with seafood. This dish included two shrimp, two oysters, two clams, and a raw egg that you need to add to the stew yourself. The soup was delicious and not overly spicy, and the tofu was incredibly soft.
I'm still a fan even after the restaurant changed ownership. Prices have gone up a bit, with the donkatsu now at $15, but the portions are still generous. Focusing purely on the food: The Alfredo donkatsu isn’t as oversized as some other donkatsu options, but it’s still quite good. The Alfredo sauce is mildly creamy without being overly savory, which I appreciate. I have to admit, the Chinese doughnuts served as a side are a bit of an unusual choice. The naengmyeon with spicy pork (not pictured) was also excellent on a hot summer day! Their cold noodle dishes are quite large!
Best place in Gwinnett to get Tonkatsu. Their portions are extremely generous for what you pay for!
