One had the caesar salad, another the enchilada carne and myself the chicken quesadilla chicken. The first two had good portions and both were satisfied. The chicken quesadilla did not look like a quesadilla (flat with a bit of chicken, veggies cheese but more of a messed up burrito! It was good but had way too much filling. It will take some time to get served during peak hours. (waitress kept forgetting the coffee... View all feedback.
What Cornelia Pfeiffer doesn't like about Bolero Duisburg:
We were in the Innenhafen and just happened to stop here. Our expectations where not high as most German Mexican restaurants are not very good. My wife ordered the margarita which unfortunately came frozen although the picture showed on the rocks. Regardless of the medium the taste was terrible, basically frozen water with a slight tequila aftertaste. Hands down one of the worst I have ever had. That said, the Mojito... View all feedback.
We popped in for a little lunch and it was quite good. It was quiet but in these times, understandable and as a result the service was patchy. I had the nachos with jalapenos, which was huge! But needed more Jalapenos, My wife enjoyed her pasta.
Big restaurant at nice location at waterside. Slow and not really friendly service. Very big portions though not really authentic Mexican food. Burgers OK
My date and I were, as usual, undecided on what to eat and decided to give Bolero a chance. I have to admit, I prepared myself for a subpar taste, but my platter and my date's were not shabby at all. The service was good, albeit a little uncoordinated (the waiters didn't communicate whether certain tables had been served etc. . As with other restaurants in Innenhafen, the food is usually decent enough to fill hungry stomachs, but they're nothing to hunt down for times to come. That said, Innenhafen is a cosy enough of an area (especially for the state that Duisburg city centre is experiencing right now to hang out and relax with friends and/or significant other in the evening after work.

That said, the Mojito I ordered (and my wife drank) was quite good, not too sweet. The food came out and we were pleasantly surprised. Guac was good, meat had good flavor, in general better than we expected. We will visit again to see if we can better the overall experience. In total the first go was average
