Very characteristic place surrounded by nature. typical karst dishes of good quality. friendly and qualified staff. a recommended place for the family, where children can play in the park and enjoy contact with animals raised by the company.
Mediocre food, potatoes in the tecia arrived cold in the middle (perhaps they were still frozen). average/high prices. waiters who did not stand out for kindness and joy. Nice place for the kids.
Dinner in the fresh garden, menu with few dishes,4 5 starters, first and second, carefully prepared. we tried the soft frickin, the gnocchi with goulash, crostini with cheek and lubjanska, the latter a slightly peculiar variant, with bries and raw ham, the original is made with cooked ham and cheese. But it was good. wine of the house, and a semifredd hazelnut and black cherry. the account more than honest. fast service, even if a little frantic in the way waiters. However recommended
Very nice location, children had swings and slides available, and the fence with pony loved very good dishes and abundant portions, the only defect there is not much choice of dishes, especially for children.
Wonderful place with a large park for children, the food was good, nothing to say, especially fuses and lasagna to the vegetables. If it was possible to make one of the waiters understand that the work does not fit, since it did not even understand how many coffees it brought and threw the dishes on the table, I would have given anke 5 stars. then we started to eat about 13 and dessert arrived at 17!

The only good thing about this experience was the location and the horse ride. The food was terrible as the service, way to expensive for some pasta and grilled chicken, everything was extremly salty, the waiter was rude and unattendive.
The place could be really nice ... an old style house in the wood with a huge park and a lot of tables inside and outside. First problem: few people eating and very very slow service. Waiter didn't really pay attention to the guests. Second problem: cats all around impossible to eat quietly and waiter completely ignore their presence. Third problem: we came here because I remembered a very nice filetto even if not cheap... well we can discuss about the quality of the meat and we can discuss how is possible not to ask to your guest if it has to be rare, medium or well done but I expected it was cooked both sides but probably I hoped too much. Fourth problem: meat in grigliata mista. Really thin and dry chicken, costine with so big bones and so much fat that was impossible to eat also for the taste Fifth problem: complained with the waiter and asked if they changed chef. Positive answer. So they changed chef and no one is checking what they bring to the table Obtained a 15% of discount on the full price. Really difficult that we would go there again
This is a casual, relaxing mountain inn nestled in the woods. A few of my favorite things were the breeze at night, campfire singing from somewhere close by, and animal calls. They were also dog friendly (and they have a pony who lives on the property! . The location was a convenient starting point for trips to Grotta Gigante, Trieste, the Slovenian border, Grado, and beaches with sea views along the drive. Even if you're not staying over, the restaurant is worth a visit for the refosco and cake-like homemade bread. We recommend the perfectly cooked homemade gnocchi and the aubergine parmesan. Stay over and you'll be treated to a breakfast of fresh juice and bread, fruit, apricot-filled croissants, crepes, strudel, or some other delightful dish. We booked 5 nights and stayed 2 more. Thank you to our hosts for exceeding our expectations!
We were four families (six kids, 8 adults and wanted to get out of the city on a Saturday, have a place for the kids to play, and enjoy a great regional meal together. Mezzaluna provided all these along with great service for our group. We tried/shared the jota (local soup with prosciutto, beans, kraut , the gnocchi with wild boar ragù, the frico (fried cheese served on arugula to keep it healthy , a mixed grill, a bison burger perfectly grilled and served with fried mashed potatoes (I think, in any case delicious . There was a lot of tasting off everyone 's plates. A memorable day on our trip. Requires a car to get there. Reserve.
We were so so disappointed! First we phone for a reservation, it was a nice Sunday morning, a table for 4 please: 2 adults, 2 children. We come there-looks like a school canteen: large tables full of families with young children. So are we....nothing bad seeing that we have screaming kids with us as well. The waiter indicates us to the table. After half an houre of begging if we could get a person near our table, a waiter appears....asking us what we would like to order....could we have a look at the menu?????please first!!!!! Than another half an hour waiting till they come around again...we finally order. And another hour waiting till we got the food. Of course, first comes one dish, after 15 minutes another, and so on. Would not recommend this torture to noone, especially if you have hungry kids with you. we waited for food almost 2 hours.
