Another review from my stay at the Renaissance hotel round the corner. This is a modern unit with a nice modern Italian restaurant. The service is great and the food is good proper Italian. I can’t help thinking they’ve crammed a few too many tables...into the space and so when it’s busy (which it always is you feel very much a part of the next tables’s dining experience. Been there today again. Once again none existent service. You call in advance, reserve a table, but still they don't treat you well. They don't deserve neither our time, nor our money. Sorry guys, either you start becoming professionals, or you will end up in a one way street.
I’m not sure what this suburban area of North West Dusseldorf has done to deserve two solid Italian restaurants within a 100 meters of each other but along with the nearby La Tosca that’s what this road junction has got. We tend to utilise La Tosca more, due to its proximity to the hotels we stay in, but on the few occasions we have used Zucchero’s the food and service levels have always s been good, as they were the other evening. As usual it was very busy and we had to be seated and, despite there being a few big tables in, we didn’t have to wait too long for our courses.
Sunday evening is never a good time to arrive in a new city and have to find a place to eat. We were very fortunate that this restaurant was only 600yards from our hotel. The food was very good and plentiful though the drink was quite pricey and the service attentive.
We booked online through open table and when we arrived we were told that there was no table. The waiters were very rude and impolite.
We had a reservation for a table made and confirmed through Opentable. When we went to the restaurant they told us that the reservation was not made.
