Excellent Genuine Italian restaurant. Very romantic in a magnificent neighborhood of Düsseldorf. feels like being really in italy in a high quality rosticceria. The antipasti plateau for two was delicious (but that doesn’t explain the charge of 45 euros). The pasta with chilly and chanterelles...was one of the best I have ever tasted. What Danny Schweizer doesn't like about Saittavini:
We just had dinner. The food was not as amazing as I would expect. But our waiter was terrible, arrogant and not friendly. He urged us to order food so that he can get good tips and higher bill from us. In the end... we didn't tip when he didn't deserve it. He's a young big guy. Very disappointing! View all feedback.

The antipasti plateau for two was delicious (but that doesn’t explain the charge of euros). The pasta with chilly and chanterelles...was one of the best I have ever tasted. Strongly overpriced. That’s the only reason I am not giving the five stars rating
Saittavini is a cozy and crowded restaurant I simply have to visit whenever I’m in Düsseldorf. Best option is making a reservation long before your visit. The menu is of great quality. The winelist leaves nothing to be desired. Actually it’s more like an enoteca...where you can dine. The staff is very friendly and it’s very clean. Thinking of the months prosciutto San Daniele and the Fassona steak with a great bottle of wine makes me mouthwatering.
The restaurant has a cozy, relaxed setting. Very attentive service. They have a very good wine list specialized in Italian wines though still lacking some small regions. We shared the burrata, san Daniele and the Vitello tonnato as starters. Then we got the Tagliatelle wild...boar, tagliarini alba and the risotto porcini. Each of us enjoyed our main dishes. We had the Tignanello rated points by wine spectator which was a perfect match with our dinner. We finished with mixed dessert plate and coffee. Prices are on the high side but worth it.
Though the food isn’t that expensive with the very nice wines we had a pricey bill. Was is worthy? Yes! The food, the service, the wines and the atmosphere was great! Do book your table upfront though!
This was a recommendation via Tripadvisor as we were in the area – and true to form – my fellow diners have not let me down. This is a lovely restaurant in the picturesque Oberkassel areas of Dusseldorf. They have indoor and outdoor seating –...we chose to sit indoor but by the front door to enjoy the bright but brisk weather. The restaurant is set within walls and crates and shelves of wines everywhere. Tables were dressed in white linen and tall candles. The waiters are all Italian and absolutely obsessed with wines – most of which are from Italy but also some other regional options. I think we actually chose our wines before our food. We enjoyed a lovely beef carpaccio and vitello tonnato to start with – both with perfectly prepared with thin slivers of beef or medium rare veal, along with a generous sauce or salad accompaniment. Portions were sufficient but not too much to fill you up too much before the main meal. I ordered my favourite spaghetti vongole whilst my husband had a summer truffle pasta. Both were a good size but again – not too much. The vongole had a lot of clams and a tasty sauce which did not require additional seasoning. I asked them to make it a bit spicy which gave it a good kick. My husband had a perfectly balanced summer truffle pasta with a creamy but not too heavy sauce. Dessert we asked if they could make us a zabaione which was kindly accommodated and delightfully delicious. I had gran padano cheese with a really lovely truffle honey – so good I asked for more of the honey. What a find this place was – friendly Italian service, lovely wines and very good food. This is a one of those neighbourhood gems you take your friends to for some good food and good drinks in an interesting but not kitschy environment. Well done to the Saittavini team, and thank you to my fellow Tripadvisor posters for the great recommendations!
