My wife and I stopped in for dinner and the pizza was phenomenal. We had the deep dish Gino's Supreme...it was amazing. Our waitress Kayla suggested the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer and they were awesome! We also had the pleasure of chatting with the owners! Great atmosphere, cool decor, we will be back...definitely need to hit this place up! View all feedback.
What Mac Thali's doesn't like about Gino's East Of Dubuque:
I think we happened to catch this restaurant on an off night, but all-in-all things were a chaotic mess last night. We didn't order pizza, so we received our food much faster than the tables around us who were waiting an hour+ and taking their orders to go. Our waiter never came back to fill drinks, and after we ate we waited 32 minutes with empty plates before finally being able to wave a different waitress down to g... View all feedback.
Ordered a deep dish pizza and some breadsticks as an appetizer. Pizza ended up taking almost 2 hours even after calling twice to check on it. Some of the breadsticks felt bland and old. They must have forgotten on the pizza because it came out mildly burnt and the ?deep? was disappointing. Willing to give another shot some other day.
A group of 5 decided to give Gino's a try on Sunday evening. I called to be sure they were open was told yes, but no servers would be available. We showed up, had to wait to be seated, not because they were busy, but because the person at the front desk was on the phone. At the same time she was arguing with another person about seating us. Not a good way to begin a dining experience! We finally were seated, placed a drink order then a food order. Got drinks anappetizer, then waited an hour 15 mins for a small two large pan pizzas to begin coming to the table. The first was good, the second 2 came out with burnt crusts. Of course, the flavor of the pizza was compromised because of that! Iunderstand this is a new business venture, but those of us who had experienced Gino's in Chicago were very disappointed! And I haven't even mentioned the prices which I felt were high...our checks were almost $150!
As a Chicago transplant, I savored having a Gino's East in my adopted hometown of Dubuque. We struggled to get takeout at Gino's since they opened months ago (completely understandable due to staffing shortages everywhere), and finally got to order takeout smoothly over the phone. The mozzarella and spinach sticks were the best we've ever had, however, both our thin-crust pizza and deep-dish pizzas were completely overdone...very, very dark. I truly wanted to adore this food.I had to wait an extra 10 minutes past the designated time to get my order--not a problem as I understand how kitchens/restaurants work. However, had they taken the pizzas out of the oven before overcooking them I could having given therave review I wanted to. In my time waiting for my takeout order, the staff was supremely attentive and the ambiance and location of the restaurant is spot on. If the cooking times improve, this could be a much higher review. Truly hopingfor better times to come for Gino's East.

The food is excellent. We headed downstairs for more cocktails a live comedy show afterwards. This is a perfect date night.
