the eating and service are of high standard, but note that they pay for “Dubrovnik” price and takenoko is even more upscale than typical restaurants and caffes in the old city. if they have the budget and they want something better than the usual pastas and pizzas, then this is a good option. Excellent location and view from the terrace, awesome service and the food is delicious, recommend the gyosas for starter and a pannacota for dessert. Totally worth the visit!
Excellent food in a beautiful setting Love this spot. I think it was/is the first Japanese place in Croatia. Great staff, very friendly and attentive, the setting was very nice, lots of outdoor seating but still seemed intimate. And bottom line the food was delish! We love Gyoza and are very picky, and it was so good the 4 of us kept on ordering more. The spicy edamame was finger licking good, the prawn tempura was pot-on, and the chicken teriyaki and soft shell crab rolls were amazing. Also the Toro nigiri was amazing. Great cocktail and wine list too, we downed a ton of top-shelf sake as well (can't remember the name . Maybe you don't think you should travel all the way here for sushi and rolls, but it's a nice break from grilled fish meat and really is good (and this is coming from 25-year San Francisco residents!
O M G i just had the best sushi ever, fresh and delicious, price like anything in dubrovnik but the quality worth a lot , Super nice staff Igor made my meal even better
