We just had a fantastic meal here. Every component was perfect, with many unique twists. We also had excellent service, and particularly enjoyed talking with the host. We’ll be trying to replicate a couple of the recipes—we’ll see how that works out! View all feedback.
What Ole Abbott dislikes about Camden Studios:
Great food. Fantastic wine. Service was inattentive though. Despite us being only one of two tables we repeatedly had to stand up to get the servers attention. Nov View all feedback.
This *should* be a really lovely restaurant. The dishes are skilfully prepared, the wine list and menu are great, and it should be one of those places where the extra cost is absolutely worth it. But the actual experience on the night we went was really bad. The food, beautifully prepared, was uniformly under seasoned, so that all our starters and mains tasted of nearly nothing. Chefs need to taste what they’re cooking. At the level they’re aiming for a Cabernet franc should have been served or at least offered slightly chilled. The worst were two features of the service. On the night we went the waiter/manager was complaining audibly towards the end of the evening to his colleagues about his streaming cold. It hadn’t stopped him serving and handling everything that came to everyone’s table without washing his hands, wiping his nose as he moved around the restaurant. He shouldn’t have been working that night. They also didn’t bother to ask whether we wanted desserts (we did the menu looks amazing) and by the time we realised that we were going to have to ask ourselves we’d lost appetite and moved on. Frustrating because this place should be wonderful, so hoping that this was a glitch. Looking down the reviews I can see others with similar issues, but also some who’ve had a brilliant time. So we might try again, and hope that the chefs have found the salt pot. Note: no vegan options on the menu on the night we went so you’d probably need to call in advance.
Very enjoyable! The early bird 3 course menu is amazing. Will certainly be back. Back again and it's better than ever. Everything so delicious!
Extraordinary dining experience ! Each dish is carefully curated and perfected super fresh ingredients filling lovely wine selection cosy atmosphere. Starter selection can be stronger when compared to the mains there is a big step up lovely deserts to finish but mains remain top in the menu ! Highly recommend !
My daughter and I went there for the pre theater menu last night before a concert at NCH. We sat near the window upstairs and it was cozy and very comfortable. The two main courses ox cheek amd gnocchi just blown us away. Super scrumptious and very well presented. I highly recommend this place. I will be back for more.
I could rave about this place endlessly! we came here for their early bird menu which was only €36 for two courses and €39.50 for three. every course we ordered exceeded my expectations completely! i absolutely loved their delicious ricotta gnocchi with squash and mushrooms, as well as the ox cheek which was very tender and melted in your mouth. the restaurant itself is beautifully furnished, the perfect location for occasions and intimate dinners
