What Simon Nolan doesn't like about Jolin's Vietnamese Coffee House:
When I arrived I ordered a wok dish with beef. When my meal arrived it came with boiled white rice, I told the lady that I presumed wok dishes comes with noodles, she then flipped out on the defensive saying well that’s other places not here. She was rude intrusive and impolite. I ate what I was given quickly and left. The food was average at best. It overpriced for what I received. I live locally and I will be advis... View all feedback.
This is one of the best spots in Dublin up there with the National Gallery, Trinity College, and McDaids. Once I heard about Jolin's halfway into my 4 month stay in Dublin, I made the 2km walk from Trinity at least 4 times. The first moment I stepped in, I knew I was going to love this place. The owner's son was playing video games with his friend after school and hosted us as we walked in. One day when I was there, the son was playing around with us and telling my friends and I jokes. We went to try to get some work done but couldn't help hanging out and enjoying the homely, mom and pop shop atmosphere. The food looked amazing, but I only ever went for the delicious Vietnamese coffee. In fact, this place inspired me to order my own Vietnamese Coffee equipment and now I make it daily at home since I'm not in Dublin anymore. If this place wasn't a 2km walk for me I would have frequented everyday. Inside I met an old man who had been going there for over 10 years and watched the son grow up. What a great spot. Next time I'm in Dublin, I really hope this place is open, it will be my first stop.
Great reasonably priced food. Wonderful ambience. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Ordered 2 beef soup noddle for 25 Euro, the beef is to thick and overcooked, the noodle is alright, but the soup has too much oil and the flavor is not right. The owner is really friendly, but to be honest, I can cook better beef pho myself, what you get for your 25 Euro is just entry level home cooking stuff, I will not dare bring this kind of food to my family dinner table. Will not return. Service: Take out
I ordered to go. The quality of the products were not good. The pho wasn't tasty.
Tasty food, reasonably priced, good portion, simple service. Terrace with a roof. Place needs a bit of a scrub though. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
