Contribute FeedbackThe Merrion Tree Bistro Food Shop offers a bit of a puzzle as they navigate their identity. The location is convenient but confusing opening hours and offerings pose a challenge. The enthusiastic staff and excellent food have received mixed reviews. Some customers found the experience disappointing, while others praised the cozy atmosphere and delicious dishes. With some careful thought and adjustments, The Merrion Tree has the potential to become a beloved neighborhood spot for dining in or dining at home.
Thank you Carl and Merrion Tree for staying open and pivoting to pickup and coffee. Love the pizza and lasagna. Love you!
Pretty awful experience here yesterday for lunch. The wait staff were rude (I had heard this from friends) and the food was just ok, not worth remarking on. Disappointing won’t go back. Much better places within a 5 min drive away.
We would have to admit that this Bistro Food Shop (their own description, by the way) is, at least so far, a bit of a Puzzle for us, as we 're not at all clear that they as yet know what exactly they are trying to offer. The Merrion Tree has a great location on The Rise in Mount Merrion, right beside an excellent Pharmacy, a well stocked Newsagent Post Office, and an extremely good (if somewhat compact) SuperValu Store. Their Founder has impressive credentials, and their Front of House man (her Son) is an extremely charming individual, but it 's more than a bit confusing after that. But, all of that said, we 're not at all sure (as long time local Residents, who would dearly wish to see a neighbourhood enterprise succeed and thrive) that the Owners of The Merrion Tree have quite got their act together. For starters, it has seemed a bit of a mystery to us as to when they are actually Open , and what they offer, and since they promote this whether or not they have thought through their Food for Home , in terms of what 's available, and how it is presented for the convenience of Customers. First, let 's note that what you pay here for a typical Home Dish is more expensive than the well established Butler 's Pantry , but, frustratingly, much of it is offered in a format which is not Oven Friendly , for all that the covering sleeve declares we are not fans of microwaves for our food . Have they really thought this through? Our comments here are based on several purchases of this Food for Home , as well as struggling to find a basis for experiencing the Eat in dimension of this Outlet, which we 'd love to do, if Opening Hours were a lot clearer. We think The Merrion Tree can, with just a little bit more, well considered thought, do a lot more to entice local Residents like us to go and eat there, and, more frequently, at reasonable cost, enjoy the Food for Home .
Amazing food thank you frustrating and upsetting experience. I am 42 year old man that really needed to use the toilet as I have MS and a ridiculously bad bladder, something did not say. But I was told there is no customers toilets, and to ask the shop next door, where I was told they are not insured. I went back to the shop and they said to go to Applegreen and use their toilets, honestly how many people ask to use the toilet beautiful food really upsetting experience. PS thank you Apple green
After a long absence, we recently revisited the Merrion Tree and were reminded of why we love it so much. The staff and owner are always welcoming, and the food is consistently delicious. It's a cozy bistro that offers a more traditional dining experience, perfect for enjoying a leisurely meal paired with a great bottle of wine. We can't wait to return again soon.
