What User doesn't like about Mandarin Kitchen:
This modest and cozy restaurant offers simple dishes. I ordered the rib eye, which was cooked perfectly to my liking, although the flavor didn't impress me. The staff was lovely and the prices were reasonable. The restaurant is conveniently located in a central area. View all feedback.
We popped into the restaurant! Amazing find. Entire dinner was incredible and we even got dessert which is a must. Glad we found this place.
We ate dinner here and we're vey disappointed. Theme of the meal seemed to be the more seasoig the better. It seems the cook has no buds for when enough is enough. Manhattan style chowder tasted like canned tomato soup with a overdose of spices and herbs a added to make it unique. Entree of chicken breast was cooked perfectly but overly seasoned with dry herbs and on top off a mixture of every vegetable they could find. The vegetables had a totally different seasoning than the chicken and one or two bites taken tasted like completely different, curry! We made three attempts to order wine from the short wine list and finally settled for the last one only because it was the right varietal and country. Never could they produce a wine on the list.
Came here for an early bird. Food was delicious. We are from the early bird menu which had good choice. My only gripe is that there were a lot of supplements. 5 euro for this 1.50 for that. I thought 1.50 extra for a slice of cheese on a burger was ridiculous. Can't knock the food or the service. The resturant is quite small and compact. So if it's full I'd imagine u would be on too of each other. But I would go back again. Just prefer an early bird without so many extra supplements.
I do hope more folks review this establishment in the future as it deserves to be much higher on TripAdvisor's list! Perhaps the staff will start recommending posts on here! The ambiance is lovely in here, really unique and it stands out as very boutique among some cliched and ugly dining options around it. The Kitchen was absolutely wonderful. I enjoyed the marinated chicken and my wife had the venison curry sausage. Both dishes were beautifully prepared and incredibly flavorful. We had not one bad thing to say about either! The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was among the best desserts I have ever had. I was ashamed at how quickly I downed it. We cannot wait to return here upon our next visit to Dublin!
Ate here recently with a group of friends. I had the mozzarella tomato pesto salad to begin and the grilled marinated chicken as a main. Both dishes were fine nothing amazing but were exactly what they said they were. The chicken was a little bit dry but edible. Others at the table got chicken wings which were spiced perfectly and the house salad was deemed tasty. For mains venison curry was ordered by two people although a perfect comfort dish it lacked bite. The venison was a bit lost amidst the liquidity of the dish. Two people had the monkfish scampi with pea purée and skinny fries. The pea purée divided two of the diners one who likes garden peas the other that doesn't! In terms of the scampi it was nice. Essentially, fish and chips. Not sure if it would have made a difference what fish would have been used in terms of appreciating the monkfish. Service was great, a lovely atmosphere and for €20 for two courses, very good value.
