We always choose this restaurant for dinner when we're in town. They offer a wide variety of cuisines, but our favorite is the Thai selection - especially the green curry and masaman curry with tofu, which are always delicious. The spring rolls are also fantastic. There's something on the menu for everyone. View all feedback.
What SuzieB1975 doesn't like about Dollard Co:
Went to this bar (now called The Giddy Dolphin) for drinks with friends. Place was lacking any atmosphere, Pizzas stodgy, Service was horrendous, waited 30 minutes to order a drink at bar, totally understaffed, and staff were so rude. Finally ended up leaving and going to a far better pub outside of Templebar. They need to get a good managers to run the place and hire enough staff for a Friday night. Avoid at all cos... The pizza appears dry and unappetizing as it sits in the glass display case. It looks like it was prepared the day before and is definitely not fresh. It would be much appreciated, especially in the aftermath of COVID, if the staff would wash their hands or wear gloves when handling your food or pizza. This lack of hygiene is quite unpleasant. It would be better to go elsewhere for a tastier pizza option.
When I walked in I was given very little information on how to order and left to find a table. Stood at bar for ages to get a drink and no one was serving so gave up and went order food. Server on burger bar obviously didn’t want to be there, not friendly at all. Stood around for another 5 mins waiting to order a drink and finally someone came over.
We went to the restaurant on a Saturday evening and found the inside to be very dimly lit. There were no menus or utensils available. Our server, Tommy, made inappropriate remarks about our weight, which were also written on the bill. We encountered a negative attitude and were told to order our food at a kiosk. Despite being students, the kitchen staff only allowed us to take advantage of a student discount at the bar. However, the food was tasty and the kitchen staff were friendly. Tommy's behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful, as he was on his phone and made offensive comments to my friend. This kind of behavior can be damaging to mental health. Although Tommy quickly changed his attitude when confronted, it is clear that he lacks proper training in customer service. He should work on improving his interactions with customers.
My husband and I visited this restaurant for a drink on Saturday afternoon. It was very quiet and we had to wait at the bar for about ten minutes while three other customers were served. There was only one bartender working and when I requested a Hendricks and Elderflower, I was told they didn't have elderflower and the bartender wasn't sure about the Hendricks. He then left the bar to presumably check on the gin and returned 6 minutes later without acknowledging us, before starting to input into the till. Feeling ignored, we decided to leave. I'm unsure if it was because we are an older couple, but the lack of apology for the delay and poor customer service led us to recommend avoiding this place.
Wow! The atmosphere was buzzing. The staff were friendly, we ordered pizza which was fantastic! The entertainment was top-notch. Jamie Duff was performing for the first hour, he was a great singer and very entertaining. Followed by Declan Greene who was just as good and hilarious! He really got the crowd engaged, encouraging people to sing and dance. This is definitely one of my favorite places that I have ever been to.
