I thoroughly enjo... read more I completed my work experience at Cottage Home For Little Children in the summer of 1998 while studying Applied Social Studies in Social Care. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the children, but I was quite disheartened by the way the staff treated them. This experience prompted me to rethink my career path in Social Work. I lodged a complaint with the HSE concerning the conditions at the home and later discovered that there had been two other complaints filed a few years prior. I genuinely hope that the children are receiving better care now. In my current position, we place a strong emphasis on the well-being of the children.
