For a restaurant specializing in pouting it was the worst I've tasted. Canned tasteless gravy and processed cheese curds
Really good poutineThick-cut fries made from local potatoes, the freshest, squeekiest cheese (local also) and delicious thick tasty sauce.
I decided to try the poutine at this restaurant because it is supposedly the original spot with the Poutine Patent. However, I wasn't overly impressed. I believe I would have had a better dining experience if the restaurant was open. The sauce definitely tasted like a poutine sauce rather than gravy. The fries were hot and delicious.
Heard about the place from a local area friend. Decided to try the place out even though was worried my language skills would hurt me. Was served by a gentleman who lived previously in the states so had excellent English skills. The place is set as a late 1960s style diner. And was a car hop place apparently at one time by the sheltered parking. As they advertised themselves as the poutine inventor, decided to try the poutine trio. As one reviewer said, the first one isn't always the best, and will agree on the original, but with the trio I got, du chef made me wish I had heard about this place sooner. Definite on the go back list.
