The Manor House - Dronfield

I've been for breakfast and lunch and love the food and it's very reasonably priced. However, the last couple of times I've tried to go for breakfast, it's been a disaster. First time we didn't book as the booking system had only just been introduced and we were unaware of this. The staff said we could wait in the bar and they would inform us as soon as a table was available. After about 40 mins I enquired if a table was ready and was told they weren't serving anyone else as the kitchen was backed up with orders so we had to leave. Second time, my friend booked a table for 4 of us, it was my Friends birthday so a special occasion. When we arrived we were told there was a function booked and no regular bookings were being taken. We were not told this on booking and our name had been crossed out of the book but no one had thought to inform us! Needless to say we won't be going back. The staff were unapologetic on both occasions. Shame really, we did like the food a lot and the veggie breakfast is especially good.

I had my 80th birthday there and we had a really great time. My partner and I had the best bedroom overnight and the following morning my daughter and son in law joined me , my partner, my sister and my friend for a really great breakfast. The staff were brilliant on my birthday bash and the following morning. Would recommend the hotel to anyone. Rooms: 4

Only reviewing as a pub. Non residents welcome. Pleasant small bar area with good sized patio beer garden to the side of the car park at back. Just one real ale.... Jorvic had Abbeydale Moonshine. Very good. Well worth popping in for drinks. Lovely part of Dronfield. Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Romantic
