‘Twice bitten once shy’ Cold windy camping weekend. The Owl Hare was the best place for us to be. Warm atmosphere, interesting decor, friendly staff, and draught on tap kept us going. A large group so we did overwhelm them. A late breakfast became lunch for some but fed we were. A few days later en route home we (only 2 this time) dropped in again. More relaxed this time, and a different crew, but great beer and 70’s background music made for a very pleasant Sunday lunch. Try chef Denise’s freshly made coconut milk custard topped Bobotie or a great cheese meat platter (a fair wine selection). Don't miss her Carrot cake with a touch of banana either along with very good coffee. This cosy eatery made an impression on us, and is a welcome addition to Wakkerstroom. We’ll be certainly be back.
Very nice place with a great atmosphere. Food was delicious, although we waited a very long for it. Friendly staff

What a gem, tucked away in a tiny little town! The food was simple, but good, and the beer and coffee were delicious! You can buy bottles of the in house beer and coffee, as well as various jams and preserves. The dogs are awesome too!
Wow, the food, drinks, and atmosphere were fantastic! It's so important to venture off the main path and discover the charm of smaller towns.
