POSITIVES: Don 't let the name fool you, this place is chock full of options besides sushi. Whether it 's curry, rice, noodles, teriyaki chicken, a bento box, or a variety of ramen, this place offers lots of satisfying options. The appetizers are equallytempting : edamame, calamari, gyoza, takoyaki, etc. As far as sushi goes, this place nails it with a blend of great flavor andawesome presentation. I ordered the colorful Playboy roll (fried shrimp, salmon, tobiko--tiny fish eggs, and jalapeño andthe Phoenix roll (tempura shrimp, eel, avocado, salmon, jalapeño, green onion, sesame seeds, teriyaki sauce, and spicymayo. . This roll was unlike anything if ever been presented with at a sushi restaurant...trust me, it is very exciting andworth every penny. The Japanese decor and theme is very friendly and inviting. The waitress was extremely polite andknowledgeable. Also, the mochi ice cream is fabulous, and you can 't go wrong with it. NEGATIVES: the menu was covered ingrease from someone fingers... Not sure if the material just attracts grease really easily or something... Also, there was aBOGO 50% off for all sushi rolls... I only ordered 2 rolls myself (one was $15ish, the other would have been about $7 with theoffer , and I somehow still walked out paying $30, aside from tip. Still not terrible, but not what I had expected. PRICE:expect to pay $15-30 per person depending on how much food you get. VERDICT: it was a fun experience, and I 'm definitelycurious about some of the other sushi rolls (and curry! It 's love to come back, but given the price, I may have to wait untilmy work takes us out so it 's on their dime.
The sushi at this restaurant is of respectable quality and reasonably priced. We like to stop by occasionally to sample some of their unique rolls. Most rolls are priced between $9 and $16, and they have a buy one, get one 50% off promotion that helps save some money. You can expect to spend around $10 to $12 per roll. While there are better and more affordable sushi options out there, this place offers a nice change if you're in the mood for something different. The service is generally adequate, though not outstanding. During our last visit on a Thursday, we had to wait about 5 to 10 minutes for a table. The food comes out quickly, but the quality of the rolls can be inconsistent. Some are delightful while others are merely passable. The Ichi roll consistently impresses, and the Seasons roll is both unique and flavorful. We also tried a cucumber-wrapped roll with spicy plum sauce, which was intriguing but not particularly appealing. Overall, this may not be our first choice for sushi, but it's certainly worth a visit for a different experience.
"This sushi is exceptional and competes with the best sushi bars I've been to. It's conveniently located in our neighborhood, and we truly enjoy dining here! The food and service are outstanding. I highly recommend it, especially since it's more affordable than many popular sushi chains."
