Description

Domani Star offers a cozy, inviting atmosphere and a reputation for quality Italian cuisine that has attracted loyal patrons for two decades. While many diners still cherish favorites like Gorgonzola polenta and bourbon bread pudding, recent visits suggest a dip in food consistency. Disappointing dishes and slow service during busy times raise concerns among long-time customers. However, the warm hospitality, particularly from attentive staff, remains a highlight. With jazz nights and brunch options now available, this beloved spot remains a charming sanctuary for both old and new visitors, offering a mix of delightful experiences and room for improvement.

We love coming here. We met a large group here. The portions are generous. We usually always get the meatballs with a side of marinara. This time I got chicken dish and my husband had veal. We usually get the pasta dishes and there are always great specials. The pasta dishes are unique. If they have the chocolate pudding as a special be sure to get. It is cooked pudding and is super chocolatey. I’m not even a big chocolate person but this pudding reminds me of what my dad made when I was a kid. Plus, it is a BYOB which we love. There’s a great wine bar right across the street to have a glass of wine prior to dinner if meeting people, called PAG’s wine bar which is a unique cozy wine bar with fireplaces and all.

Quite good. Looking forward to trying again. Small BYOB restaurant in the borough of Doylestown. Reservations by phone only; closed Tuesdays. Seating can be tight. Dining room can get noisy. Bread is fresh, but not chewy or flavorful; soft crust. Served with good quality flavorful olive oil. Service was attentive and professional. Appetizer: Eggplant stuffed with ricotta. Very yum. Tomato sauce was sweet and flavorful. Salad: Mixed green salad with ricotta, pineapple, strawberries, shaved roasted almonds. Thoughtfully brought out in two portions, since we were sharing. Very good. Main courses were both good: Black bass special, with cherry tomatoes and basil, served with mashed potatoes. This was not a brilliant combination of flavors, rather each ingredient was separately wholesome and tasty. Linguine with shrimp, scallops, and red peppers, with a white wine sauce: All the flavors combined very well and formed a wonderful sauce for the linguine. Scallops had a bit of sand. Shrimp was served with tail and last shell segment attached. This is just annoying for anything other than fried shrimp or shrimp cocktail. (Am I the only one who feels this way? Deserts were the best I’ve had at any local Italian restaurant recently – Tuscan bread pudding, and a rich chocolate cake with fruit and homemade whipped cream.

This is my go to place in Doylestown. Feels like home and it’s a cozy setting. Friday nights in Sorella (sister space next door) with jazz is perfect! Yummy food that never disappoints. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
