Panera offers an impressive menu, but the consistency in both food quantity and quality can be hit-or-miss. The experience varies greatly depending on who prepares your order. No two visits are alike. While the food often tastes fantastic, you can never be certain about how your sandwich or salad will turn out.
Ordered a Chicken salad sandwich and it was mistakenly entered as a tuna sandwich. Told the girl at the register she said to tell the cooks. I let them know the sandwich should be chicken salad they said no problem they would fix it. Finally received chicken salad but it was on the wrong bread with all the items like tuna.
Ordered to eat inside. Received my food in less than 10 min. Order was correct, and food was tasty. They were constantly cleaning the tables once vacated.
Went through drive-through to pick up a bowl of soup on my way home from Rehoboth this evening around 8:30 PM. One person ahead of me at the pickup window. NO ONE addressed me after five minutes. Twice I said, hello finally a voice responded with a rude tone, someone will be with you in a minute . Placed my order pulled up behind a large black pickup truck that was (still) at the pickup window. After about five minutes saw what looked like a drink straw handed to the person in the truck. The person in the truck took it was waving the straw back forth seemingly teasing the person in the store as they talked joked. After about another TEN minutes or so, the truck pulled away. Mind you, there was NO other food or drinks passed to the driver during that time! I pulled up to the window, looked inside see three young people-a young man playing on his cell phone, a young woman having a conversation on her cell phone using speakerphone, another person walking back forth trying to fill orders. No apparent manager on duty zero supervision! I 've been a long time happy customer of the Panera in North Wilmington, as well as the Christiana Mall location when it was in business. This was the WORST customer service I 've experienced hands down at ANY fast-food restaurant!! One star reflects that rating!!
I have tried to use curbside pickup several times and I have never received a correct order. I have also never had my order delivered earlier than 15 minutes past my order is ready notification. I have had to walk in and get it myself twice. This time, 20 minutes after it was supposed to be done, I went in and was informed someone stole my food and it was being remade. I get it, **** happens. Wait patiently, get my food and head home. Aaaaaaand, missing a soup. I give up. Every time I try curbside I get the shaft. I called to let them know but what good does it do? At this point it 's like they are intentionally screwing up curbside in hopes it goes away.
