It's a New Hampshire tradition where the food and portion sizes have remained consistent over the years. They've recently added Hershey's Ice Cream to their menu, but I believe they should consider featuring homemade options or a local brand instead.

I fondly recall late afternoons spent there with my family during special occasions. My great-grandmother would often rave about their incredible clam chowder. I'm happy to report that Newick's still lives up to its reputation! The food remains outstanding, and the recent renovations to the building have breathed new life into this beloved family restaurant. I highly recommend the onion rings; they are cooked to perfection and beautifully seasoned.

We ordered their original clam chowder, which I usually enjoy as I prefer thinner chowder that packs a flavor punch. Unfortunately, this one was quite bland. While it had a decent clam flavor, it lacked the necessary fat, salt, and seasoning to elevate it from just clam milk to a proper chowder. Next time, we'll be making the trip to Billy’s instead. I've also included a photo to illustrate my point. I've never encountered chowder this plain before, whether at a restaurant or elsewhere. I'm not trying to be harsh or exaggerate, which is why I shared the photo. It honestly tasted like just milk with a few potatoes and clams mixed in. It was so close to what we wanted, yet so far off.
