This is definitely the most underrated restaurant in Dover. We have been several times, ordered many different entrees and appetizers and everything has been phenomenal every time. The Caesar salad is to die for, the chicken sandwich and the steaksandwich are also stand outs!
Food is great, service is great? but the atmosphere is off. I suggest the owners choose a new color to paint the walls? something that better matches the brick/wood of the establishment. The wood and brick are both gorgeous and are drowned out bythe bright teal/blue color. A maroon/merlot or a dark green/chive color would better suit this space. There?s also a lack ofdecor, I believe I counted 6 paintings on the walls in the whole place. Some standing plants, faerie lights on the vents and/orplants hanging in the windows would seriously liven this place up and increase customer base. An additional higher-cost upgradewould be replacing the current tables with something a bit nicer, such as real wood. Ultimately the color of the walls and lackof decoration made the dining-in experience feel inadequate, especially with how beautiful the space could be with very minorupgrades. I?m not usually someone who is particular about these kinds of things, but this threw me off so much while I wasthere. I felt it was important to write to this business so that they?re aware this is something their customers care about.
Best Meal I've had in New Hampshire! The Salmon and Risotto was flavorful and cooked to perfection (the salmon even had the crispy skin! I came for an early dinner with a coworker; and we were both incredibly satisfied with our meals andservice. The teal walls are inviting; and the vines draping over the windows add so much charm. The playlist is cheerful andupbeat; and the paintings of water throughout are beautiful. Absolutely stop by Diverge. This was wonderful AND they accomodategluten-free.
We had the best time here! The service was PHENOMENAL! The food was delicious and the atmosphere gives off such a good vibe. Would recommend to anybody who wants a nice quiet dinner. 5 Stars!
If I could give Diverge 10 stars, I definitely would! We've visited several times in the past few months, and the quality of the food consistently exceeds our expectations. Forget about the chain restaurants in Dover and discover this hidden gem instead. You won't regret it!

My wife and I went to Diverge for dinner and little bit ago. I had been looking for something out of our regular and I frequently check the reviews ahead of time. I had seen multiple posts about Diverge, so I pulled up their info, and I have to say, I also loved how the owner replied to reviews (especially the negatives). So, we decided to give it a go. I called ahead to see if reservations were required. They aren't, but they took my info, since I was already on the phone. When we arrived, it was just a short wait for the type of table we wanted (high-top vs low). It seemed pretty quiet for a Friday night. We ordered an appetizer of Pork Belly which was amazing and so tender. highly recommend. My wife got the Cod and I went with the NY strip, medium rare. My wife doesn't eat a lot at once, and after the app, she couldn't eat much of the Cod, but she loved it and was happy to finish it later at home. My steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and the scalloped potatoes were to die for! My wife doesn't generally enjoy potatoes, but she had a couple of bites of these. We made sure to let them know, too. The asparagus was also perfectly seasoned. I will admit, I'm a bit of a steak snob, and generally prefer my own home-cooked version. This one was well flavored and tender. It did come out a bit cooler than I'd like (might have waited a few for the piping hot potato), but when I mentioned it, they were more than accommodating. Also, there was a party of 12 whose order went in, and came out, just ahead of ours, so I'm quite certain that factored into the timing. It wasn't a big deal, and they handled it with grace. Against our norm, we decided to try the Chocolate cake with ganache and fresh strawberries for dessert. Again, my wife only had a few bites, and I'm diabetic so maybe it was silly of us to order, but it was also very tasty and quite rich. Even though we were sharing it, we brought about ½ of the cake home to finish later as well. Diverge is tucked away, behind Lexie's (one of our kids' favorite burger spots), enough so that you might not know it's there. We recommend giving Diverge a try and we'll be back! A side note dor those who like to plan ahead: like other businesses moving along the trend, their prices are cash prices and do have a small fee for cards to cover processing fees. It is plainly written on the menu, and we knew ahead of time, so there was no surprise. I'd say 4.5+ out of 5. Well done, Diverge!
Don't sleep on this place. The pork belly appetizer is an 11. Same for the brussel sprouts. The steak is a hidden gem. My wife loves the salmon, and it's what she orders almost everywhere. It's in a cool location, with a warm atmosphere, and a neighborhood kind of friendly. The sunlight bounces off the windows of the old mill building behind it with views of the mill side river. It's just a comforting place to be treated like a neighborhood friend. Also, order the pork belly appetizer.
Excellent service at the bar by Shannon who was very attentive and pleasant all throughout. The food was beyond what we expected. We had the salmon with risotto and the burger chips. All excellent and tasty, probably one of the best risottos I’ve had as it was light and the veggies were fresh. The salmons was well seasoned, I just wished they cooked it medium as per my order, it was well done but not dry. The only thing I would change would be the music, a bit too loud and the genre didn’t really go with the atmosphere and clientele.
We came to Diverge, as it’s our favorite date night spot! This time I had the linguine with shrimp and my husband had a burger with bacon. We literally LICKED OUR PLATES CLEAN! This place never disappoints and I often recommend it to those asking for a great place to dine out in Dover. One of our favorites!! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50
Decided to give this place a try based on the menu they have posted on their web site. Party of four on Valentine's day. We ordered the Pork Belly, Oysters, Salmon, NY Strip, and Hanger Steak. The Plusses: Food and drinks were great! Negatives: Menu given did not match their web site. Although the waiter was personable, he routinely forgot items for the table, and had to be reminded multiple times. Mains and additional drink orders were very slow to arrive to the table. Management has decided to tack on a 3.25% charge for non-cash transactions. Instead of penalizing (and annoying) customers that use CC's, why not institute a loyalty program that gets people to return? Thinking carrot/stick here. Oh wait, carrots aren't on the menu...

We came to Diverge. for date night and the service was outstanding as usual, and the FOOD!!!! Omg!!!! I have never had a bad meal here, and tonight was no exception. There is a reason I recommend this restaurant to everyone I know. Hands down one of the best on the Seacoast! As you can tell by the photos, we nearly licked our plates clean!
My husband and I loved everything about Diverge. Shannon was so accommodating and attentive. I had the most delicious mussels that were so tender and delicious and my husband ordered wings and said they were the best he had ever had!!! He’s a wing junky! Beverages were perfect. Will be returning soon!

The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with delicious food options. We enjoyed a few drinks along with the steak tips, mac and cheese, and wings. The chips and dip were also fantastic. I highly recommend giving it a try; I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
Fantastic food and excellent service! I ordered the salmon, and it was incredible. The dishes at the other tables looked amazing as well. The waitress was very friendly, and the atmosphere was wonderfully inviting.
Although blackened salmon wasn’t on the menu, they happily prepared it for me! The short ribs with risotto were fantastic! The staff was also very friendly and attentive!
We had steak tips, korean pork belly, seasonal salad, and chocolate cake; all delicious. As importantly, all meals were beautifully arranged on the plates. ? The waitress was quick, attentive, and friendly. Good location with a view on the water.
My family and I decided to try this spot based on the reviews and it did not disappoint! Food was AMAZING and some of the best we've had in the area. We ordered the brussel sprouts, prime rib, lobster mac n cheese, and scallops.... all were 10/10... Can't wait to come back soon! Service was also great!

Can't comment on anything about this place other than the hours on the door said open at 4pm (it was Friday), but it was NOT open, and there wasn't a soul remotely in sight even shortly after 4pm. Not a place to try again after this first impression.....and the snotty reply to this review by the owner really means we will never be back. Timely service starts with opening the door on time, even if you have to apologize to customers who may need to wait for a server. Everyone has patience when treated with respect.
I had an excellent experience with the food, and the service was dependable. This restaurant is certainly worth a visit. While it might not blow you away, it provides a charming and laid-back atmosphere.
The atmosphere was wonderful. We sampled the crispy Brussels sprouts, NY strip steak, and salmon, and each dish was outstanding! The margarita was excellent too. The service was top-notch. I highly recommend this restaurant!
The food was amazing! I highly recommend trying the burger. The atmosphere is laid-back, and the service is warm and welcoming. I can't wait to try more dishes from the menu!
