This is my local spoon pub and I love to use their app to order table service. It's so fast and easy! What Hamdal doesn't like about The Eight Bells:
After waiting for over 45 minutes, our food finally arrived cold. We were informed that the pizza oven was broken, so we couldn't order pizza, but the other food was clearly ready and waiting. My only bug bear is the pretty loud locals who love nothing more than to let their overwhelming voices hear! The smoker zone is also in front of the pub, which does not give the place a very positive view! It's full of old drunks and young loud boys all oil as they happen. It would be more beautiful if the smoker zone was on the back to be honest.
A very beautiful place where you can eat fantastic food
Beautiful surroundings. I had a while to find out you had to go to the bar to order food. You had an app, but I didn't try. Good food.
We enjoyed Dover on a restless stop on our cruise ship, and while we were wondering in downtown, we came to the eight bells. I'm glad we stopped. Although they were fled from fish and chips... over 2000 unexpected tourists make the Lol... the lamb was brilliant, and I can never turn off a pint. The pub had a great atmosphere and the staff was great.
Don't skip this great place when you're in downtown Dover. If you have a chance, take an outside seat when you're sipping your cafe, enjoy the surroundings.
