We attended a ritual wall signing for the cross-channel swimming enthusiasts and had a great time enjoying some delicious pints of Whitstable beers. The walls were decorated with a diverse selection of items, including a small military shrine. The atmosphere was lively, with well-maintained beer on tap. What more could you ask for in a good pub?
This pub stands out from the commercial pubs in the area with its traditional atmosphere. It offers a wide selection of quality Beers, Lagers, and Gins, as well as great entertainment on the weekends. Additionally, they offer affordable accommodation for £27 a night.
The FABULOUS CHANNEL SWIMMERS PUB is a hidden gem with excellent accommodations and a rich history. Visitors can expect a warm welcome, live music, and events. It's a must-see for anyone interested in Channel Swimming and the sport's history while visiting Dover.
A good old English pub Drawn inside by the elaborate tiled entrance to find a nice bar with good staff No Real Ale but a decent pint of Guinness
Fabulous traditional Victorian pub frontage. Comfy sofa seating or bar stools. good selection of drinks although no Ales on during our visit. Appears quite cosmopolitan, When we arrived, the pub was being entertained by a young man playing a guitar and singing quite nicely. After he finished his song, he put the guitar in a box in the corner and left. There appeared to be a collection of instruments for willing entertainers. Seems like a fun idea that could catch on. We watched the 6 nations rugby and headed off for dinner. Staff friendly, drinks OK but slightly expensive.
