Before the lockdown, we used to regularly visit this café and found the staff to be lovely and friendly, and the food to be good. However, after the lockdown, we were disappointed with our experience and stopped going. During Christmas, we were with family who had been for breakfast in December and recommended that we give it another try. As it was my husband's birthday, we decided to go back with friends for breakfa... View all feedback.
What polareleven doesn't like about Gibsons Farm Shop:
Three of us decided to have lunch in the cafe. A pleasant place to sit and busy on a Tuesday lunchtime. I ordered the sausage and red onion panini. The bread was hard like rock and so difficult to eat. No soft inner just a... View all feedback.
2 out of 5. When for breakfast this morning with my partner Waitress was rude/abbrupt. Hazelnut latte was nice. I had a sausage and egg roll, the sausage was precooked and sat on the counter which we could see when we were queuing to pay and then zapped to hell in the microwave I don’t know how you can have an over cooked sausage and it be that greasy. As they are a farm shop I would have thought they would take more care with their own produce. Partner had the turbo full English, which was not worth the price as it wasn’t much bigger than a normal full english, his Sausage and bacon was cooked the same as my sausage. We didn’t complain because the staff looked abit miserable apart from the young lad which asked me how everything was and I didn’t really have the heart at the time to say anything negative to him as he wasn’t miserable or the person who served us so I felt it wasn’t fair so I just said I don’t like to complain so I will say yes even though you could clearly see I took a bite of the sausage and left the rest on the plate. We used to come here a lot but we will no longer waste our money.
Got seen right away lovely service and food was great just a little expensive but ok would go back again. The view was gray and the shop was brilliant worth going
My husband and I frequent this cafe often, but after the last couple of visits we are having second thoughts on returning. For the last 2 times we have been in, the male waiter/barista has the most unwelcome attitude ever, he rather be chatting with the chefs than doing a proactive job, which in my experience, since I worked my way up from waiter to manager, is not rocket science, just need to have a bit of input. This guy is always dragging his feet and does little to nothing which has been noticed in more than the last 2 visits we had, and today just took the cake. The sign by the entrance had a 30 minute wait for food, with only 3 tables sat at the time, we got pointed to the lovely conservatory but all the vacant tables were dirty. We sat in front of the counter and after 10 minutes (I clocked in the time when we arrived and departed) no one came to even offer us a drink, while another lady was pacing around. We used to love coming here and I am not entirely sure I would like to come back to that kind of service, which now we know is not an isolated incident, for the looks another people have decided to speak out and I really hope this gets sorted soon or we would take our custom somewhere else.
Called in for tea and a scone on the way to Goodnestone Park. Ordered tea coffee and cheese scone and fruit scone. After order taken waitress came back to say only got plain scones left ! We opted for two toasted teacakes. Served burnt! Female member on pay desk needs customer service training, most unwelcoming. Overpriced and poor service. Would not go again.
I ordered the club sandwhich which sat on the hot plate for a good 15 minutes so when it came out the lettuce was wiltered and the crisps were hot. The man working out front was dragging his feet and just had no customer service this was on the 21.04.24 the chef kept ringing the bell to take the food which the male waitress ignored and continued to serve more people at this point the hotplate was completely full. He made it very clear he would of rather of been anywhere but there. I don't think age is an excuse as I worked in many cafes when I was younger and would of not behaved with such a bad attitude. These days going out for food is a treat and the customer service and food was extremely poor. If we do return we will will go the to the bakery.
