We went to Sunday lunch to celebrate my dad's birthday. My partner and I are vegan after we had told the cook that we had already had twice a weekend during our trip to the IOM Risotto, we were told that they would do something special for us (the vegan Wellington had nuts in it and I am allergic). They were so helpful and accommodating, and the food was fantastic. The three not vegans at the party also enjoyed their... View all feedback.
First-class food service. Not traditional (at modern age) dishes revived. Lamb Sweet Bread Beef Cheeks! Great.
Recently dragged to the area so that food in the abbey was a first for us. I must say the food was amazing. Absolutely. Give the cook a wage rise! The table service was done with a smile. Very professional and our server knew her food, she was more than helpful and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is fabulous. So a relaxing place. The little jewel can't blame. Will definitely be back to see more!
Beautiful, cosy surroundings. Lovely food and helpful staff
I really didn't know what to expect from this establishment, turned into the entrance and saw Michelin ratings! Quite expensive but worth it! Service was great and food lived up to what I would expect. First course however was spoilt by not being able to have gravy without any redwine in it. I am allergic to redwine and I would have expectedly an alternative sauce for roast dinner, which is quite unacceptable really from such an establishment. This is why I removed a star. My salmon was lovely though, desserts great (see photos) and I would recommend this place overall.
Very good Sunday Lunch. Food quality and service first class. Good choice from this Table d'haut menu. Only complaint would be that the Yorkshire Pudding was so large I couldn't eat it all and noticed that most plates that were being cleared had excess yorkshire left overs..excellent quality but just a bit too much.
