Border Taco - Douglas
Border Taco
Description
At this restaurant, diners encounter a mixed bag of experiences. While the ambiance and cleanliness are well-regarded, service issues frequently mar the visit, with staff often neglecting customers. The menu boasts a variety of authentic Mexican dishes, including popular choices like enchiladas and tacos, but many patrons find the portion sizes and price points disappointing. Complaints about food quality—ranging from strange-smelling bacon to inconsistently prepared sides—suggest room for improvement. Despite these drawbacks, some diners appreciate the authenticity and flavor of the food, making it a noteworthy, if inconsistent, dining option for Mexican cuisine lovers.

Experience delightful Mexican flavors at this restaurant. The menu offers a variety of dishes, from Enchiladas Rojas to Chimichangas. The recommended dishes include the Breakfast Burrito, Chicken Fajitas, and Asada Tacos. Prices range from $50 to $100 per person, making it a great spot for a brunch outing.
The service at this restaurant was terrible. Our waitress took our order but never checked on us again, and someone else delivered our food. It seemed like the entire staff was having a pizza party instead of attending to customers. The flauta plates were disappointing in portion size and did not justify the price. The flautas were only 2.5-3 inches each. Despite being a family restaurant, they did not have baby changing tables in the restrooms. For the prices they charge, they should improve both the quality of their food and customer service. In terms of kid-friendliness, this restaurant is not recommended due to the lack of baby changing stations.
The restaurant was extremely clean and the service was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious, and I will definitely be returning. Overall rating: Food 5/5, Service 5/5, Atmosphere 5/5.
Greeted immediately upon entrance. Staff were very polite and professional. Food was excellent. Ordered the (3) barria tacos special that came with the consome, and a bowl of albondigas. The soup was excellent. Veggies were fresh. Go get the barria tacos. They are very good! Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
My dining companion is from Sonora, MX. and cooks her grandmother's recipes so she is extremely picky about eating in U.S. Mexican restaurants. She had the hard carne asada tacos and Fideo soup . She had nothing but rave reviews about her meal and mine as well. I had a torta sandwich with pollo frito and jamon con queso. Dios Mio! Que rico !. Restaurant is very clean with Spanish/ Old world Mexican decor. The staff very attentive and kind. Locally owned and operated. Will definitely return! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
