We have the annual pass. We come at least 3 times a month, we love everything about this park. It has rides for all ages. Soak city is perfect to visit in the summer. They have all kinds of food for all tastes. This park is one of my favorites. My husband, children and I really enjoyed it. It is much cheaper to buy the annual pass than to buy the one-day ticket. Buy the annual pass you will not regret it.
Note: edited a few minutes after posting to format text for easier reading and to fix a few typosKings Dominion is a theme park located in Virginia. The day we visited it was a bit rainy but it turned out to be in our favor as there were little to no lines on most rides. Combined with a website promo we were able to get tickets for 30 each. There is both an amusement park and a water park area in the park. Both areas are covered by one ticket which was convenient and easy. Due to the rain we did not make it to the water park. However there was plenty to keep us occupied for the day in the amusement park area. Things to note:-Parking: parking is 30 a car and from our experience it 's not worth springing the extra 10 per car for priority parking. If you are early you can park pretty close to the gate with regular parking. -Height Limits: there are height limits for some of the rides so be prepared for staff to like you or anyone in your party against a height stick to ensure you meet the requirements. We appreciated their diligence. -Food and Drink: Although the website stated no outside food/drink we saw several people who brought food inside the park saving . Food is pricey in the park and we easily spent 20+ on what we considered a small amount of food and of average quality. Docked a star due to this.-Dining Package: Another option to consider is the add on food package which may be worth the extra 33 or so. Additionally there is a all day beverage option which was about 18 a day. We did not do this so cannot comment on the value, ease of use, etc. -WiFi: there is free WiFi in the park-Carnival Games: there are plenty carnival games but they were at least 10 to play for most of them -Park Rentry: it is easy to leave and re-enter the park as long as you get a re-admittance slip which is available by the exit. We saw people leave to to eat food from their cooler in the car. Not sure if you can drive your car out of the park and not have to repay for parking. Might be worth asking if you want to drive off park for food. -Lots of characters from Snoopy roaming the park and to take pictures with and a few shows for kids-There is a bungee jumping type of attraction which I believe has an up-charge -Mobile App: there is an app you can download with a map of the park however in order to see wait times on rides you must sign up for an account which didn 't have a charge but was kind of a pain and seemed be a way to get your information for marketing purposes
I have been to this amusement park so many times. Some years I had a season pass! With that being said, some of my favorite rides are the Dominator, Drop Tower, Flight of Fear, and the Intimidator. They used to have this ride called the Volcano. It's really sad that they got rid of that one it was also a favorite but also a very unique ride! No need for fast passes the lines do not take too long here. Not my favorite amusement park but still a good one. They have some really great roller coasters. There is also a section dedicated to younger children. The one thing that they lack compared to a lot of other amusement parks is theming. Does not bother me though. The water park here is pretty good as well! I recommend checking that out if you have time.
I give Kings Dominion a 4.3/5 stars. I thought it was overall a great park and had a lot of things to offer for everyone.First, here is my list of top 5 rides in the park.1. Intimidator the smoothest ride in the park. Hitting too speeds of 85 90mph. Easily the best coaster in the park. Low lines, quick turnaround times. Instant classic.2. Dominator also one of the smoothest coasters. Feet dangling, great views and one of the highest loops in a coaster I've been on ever. Also high speeds on this one and a lot of fun. 3. White Water Canyon this ride was one of the most enjoyable and exhilarating rides of the day. There's a chance you get wet soaking wet. But on a hot summer day it felt great to cool off. This ride fits 6 which is great for bigger groups. 4. Twisted Timbers the newest ride in the park. Definitely some speeds and gnarly corkscrews to this one. This ride bends you up and around on a lot of way that we're unexpected. It's newly built from 2019 and a lot of fun5. Racer classic rollercoaster, old school but freaky fun and enjoyable. I thought this park was great overall. Perfect layout and land for the number of rides. Of the newer coasters the recently updated ones were a lot of fun. Some could use some additional work. Grizzly was apparently renovated in 2023 but not fully and you felt it. Some others rides had seating that banged your head or made you hurting a bit afterwards. Overall a lot of good variety of rides which I enjoyed but some enhancement could definitely be made to a few. Lots of food options but nothing that blows your mind away. Kind of your classic ballpark food for the most part.
I enjoy coming here. I think this a park that is still reasonably priced. I've been here about 3 times this summer and it has been good experiences. The food could use some work, but not bad. Wish they had more shows for those of us that don't get on many rides anymore and bring our teens, but over all I do like coming here.
