What Jessica P doesn't like about Fantasia:
The food was pretty good, but it took a long time. Also the person (waiter) that lured us in was very nice in the beginning but then his attitude towards us changed once we sat down in a negative way. In addition the waiter had put vinegar for our bread in the table and then without asking us he took it away for another table. The waiter had Also he told us that the credit card machine was working but at last minute... View all feedback.
Service is slow but definitely worth the wait. The food is amazing!
Horrible service we were overcharged and had to engage in long discussions to get fair price. Not worth the trouble. Shame.

My husband and I were visiting his fam in France, and came to Venice for a very short (sadly honeymoon. While wandering the streets of Venice, some restaurants kind of blended together, and many of the menu's looked the same. We stopped to look at the menu of Fantàsia, and were uncertain, till a Man (i am not positive if he is the owner or not came out to go over the menu with us. My husband is Danish/French born, and speaks some italian, but the Gentleman was fine speaking English with us. I have an issue where I get overheated easily, and it was a hot and humid day (it is Venice, afterall and he was so kind to put the AC on and seat us inside. He also recommended a different Salmon dish (sans olives for me! for my husband and I. He also recommended an appetizer, as the fish takes awhile to cook. My goodness! This salmon was so insanely delicious and juicy! We were even checked on to make sure our meal was okay (which another restaurant we went to before was hard to get attention . It was a bit quiet, but we also went earlyish in the afternoon. We passed a few hours later, and it was packed! I just wish we were first told that they did not take debit/credit cards, as my husband had to find an ATM and get a big charge from the machine and his bank. I recommend bringing cash just in case.
This was a good restaurant close to the heart of Venice. Between the two of us, the bill came to 64 euro. We did the grilled fish platter for two for 50, two spritz beverages. 5 each, and the service charge was 2 euro per person. The portions were ample, we had a bread basket, and the food was quite tasty. Based on the exchange rate, it came out to $71.72. We would be hard-pressed to find a meal with drinks for two, of a similar quality or quantity, with tip and tax, for that amount. So a good value, good service, worth a stop.
