We visited the lake, it was likely warmer than the sea and had shade as its surrounded by trees. There is a lovely cafe next to the lake. Perfect spot for a bit of swimming and paddle boarding in the lake with the kids. Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Kid-friendly View all feedback.

1st time camping outside of festivals, Great little site, the lake is a great bonus, Pitch size is great. I wouldn't like to be there when full as only 2 toilets 2 showers. They were kept very clean showers were hot! The butcher comes around on Tuesdays Fridays for fresh meat deliveries. Shame the cafe doesn't sell milk for the site, but shops aren't too far away. Great cafe but doesn't open until 10am so be sure to have your tea coffee with you. Warden was friendly very helpful. We will be back!
Lovely site in the Dorset countryside. Access roads were tricky and bumpy. The Local pub was excellent. Plenty of walks for us and our dog from the site. The lake was more of a pond but quite pretty. The welcome at the camp was effusive and their facilities were great with plenty of flat space. T'was a pity their lakeside café was closed Weds/Thurs. Walkability: Plenty of walks from the site. The 10 minutes to the white horse pub , being clearly marked and well used. The 1½hr walk to the coast via Pucknowle {crown inn 30mins} pub more difficult to find.
