The Trawler - Dornoch Highlands

I have never left a trip advisor reviews as I do not feel the majority are accurate, however I have felt compelled to review the Trawler. I have been a customer for a number of years and I can quite honestly say the fish and...chips here are the best I've ever had, especially since their refit. I know that sometimes there is a wait at busy times but I would rather wait for freshly cooked food then be served pre cooked. I think the queues at the Trawler speak volumes. The staff are friendly and do really well given the challenges changing rules and regulations have had. Well done Trawler, our family love our weekly chippie.

Had a fish and a fish supper. The fish was tiny and the batter was so greasy, it was horrible. The chips were cold and very grainy. Absolutely not worth it, it was so bad.

Bought carry out food on Very disappointed chips dry and not fresh fish very small but tasty Very poor compared with previous visits

The fish was absolutely beautiful along with the homemade tartare sauce, we used the app which we found to be great as the food was ready to collect at our given time slot. I took off rating as the chips weren’t that great, could...have really done with a bit more cooking very pale and soggy. I’d definitely go back as it’s the best fish I’ve ever had, batter was beautifully thin and crispy.

We had a portion of scallops and chips and one of scampi and chips with tartare sauce to takeaway. Huge portions and delicious. It's very popular so you may have to queue for a while,
