What Sophie Harrison dislikes about Roosters Kitchen:
Not a bad place to eat, but quite expensive. I have a main meal and two diet cokes which came to £29 with a tip. The food was fine, but nothing special, so it doesn't feel like a value place to eat on any level. The service is good, but someone on our table didn't get what she ordered and they didn't seem keen to rectify their mistake. Overall, not bad, but nothing special. I won't be coming back again. I ordered the 'Combo' Kofte, which featured both chicken and lamb, and it was expertly cooked and seasoned. One guest in our party felt it could have used more chili spice, but for me, it was perfectly balanced. The falafel starter was delicious, with a lovely texture and flavor, and the hummus was outstanding—especially great as a dip for the fresh bread, which was so good we ordered extra servings. We enjoyed everything with chilled Efes, which was just what we needed after being stuck in traffic for nearly an hour and a half! Kid-friendliness: This place is very kid-friendly. I accidentally ordered the wrong meal for my daughter (lamb kofta instead of salmon), which led to a few tears. However, the head waiter was quick to switch the meal at no extra charge, and within five minutes, my daughter was happy again! The staff always greets my kids with a smile and is happy to chat with them. They love dining here.
