I called Nolan's yesterday around 12:30 PM to book a table for four at 1 PM. The host, who I assume was the owner, confirmed the reservation, so we arrived at 1. We were seated and handed just one menu for all four of us. We ordered drinks and placed our food order at 1:10 PM—a toasted special, two bowls of chowder, and a vegetable soup. At 1:30, I asked if we would be waiting much longer. The waitress apologized for a kitchen delay and assured us our order would be next. The food finally arrived a little after 1:50, but there were no apologies for the wait, nor did anyone check if everything was okay. We were asked for our COVID certificates, which we provided along with our contact details, but I noticed only two of the serving staff were wearing masks. The young man who served our drinks and the host were not masked, and there was no information provided to indicate if they were exempt. Outside, there was a sign advertising cocktails, but once inside, we were told they were too busy to make them—yet the sign remained on display. The food itself was average; the chowder was a bit too salty for our liking, but that might be a personal preference. Nolan's is a charming little pub in a beautiful setting, but unfortunately, the service let us down.
