I had to wait an hour for my car inspection at the garage across the street, so I decided to treat myself to two delicious slices of lemon cake with my coffee at this restaurant. I will definitely return again.

Decided to re-visit after a few months away, due to personal events, and received the very same warm welcome from Sue as we have previously enjoyed on many occasions.

Called into your shop in Tickhill at teatime and ordered Regular Fish and Chips twice. We had them open to eat out and as there was no other customers in the shop at the time did wonder if we would get the ones that were in the display that looked very dried up.Obviously this is what happened but until we started eating them couldn’t tell what they tasted like so had to take a chance. The fish batter was so hard the fork provided with them wouldn’t go into the fish and on breaking it up with our hands found the fish dried up and tasteless. The chips were also dried up and full of ends and bits.I haven’t tasted fish and chips as bad as those for a long time and as we are not local but also in Doncaster area I found they were very overpriced considering being out of the city. The ones in Doncaster city are very much better value and cheaper.Needless to say we should have taken them back into the shop but very much doubt anything would have been done about replacing them.(and to be honest wouldn’t have wanted any more of that quality) YOUR COMMENTS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

Can honestly say the best fish chips I’ve tasted for a long time!! Beautiful fresh boneless fish with a light crispy batter, not greasy at all... chips are also cooked perfectly!! Will definitely be having fish chip Fridays every week from now on ????????keep up the good cooking!!
