Stopped for lunch and a nice cold beer after enjoying the Lamp Museum and a dozen restored older model cars heading to Red Deer for the car show. Service was quick, the waiter friendly. The sandwiches were large and loaded with whatever filling choice (mine was egg and cheese, double the normal filling anywhere else) excellent tasty fries. What Shannon G doesn't like about Donalda Tavern:
Wednesday wing night is fantastic with great value for money. However, prices for drinks and meals have increased significantly over the past two years at this restaurant. View all feedback.
We went to Donalda Tavern for the first time for their Friday steak night, I did not realize that we would have to wait an hour for our meal and that the waitress would bring out plates with steaks and potato only, every thing else was buffet style for utensils, butter, sour cream, salads etc. For someone with a compromised immune system, this left me with only a small steak and a potato for my dinner as I can't eat anything that Is left out especially with people breathing on it and picking up the serving utensils, not happy.
Great local place. a definite hidden gem. the wing and steak nights are jam packed and always need a reservation. the prices are amazing the food is also amazing. the staff is super friendly and the interior of the buildings pretty decent!

I was lucky enough to be invited to Friday night steak night at the tavern ,it was a nice evening out and the flame broiled steak was worth the trip. The tavern was full and reservations are needed . After a day of visiting and exploring a steak dinner is just the way to end the day . I recommend you try .
Steak served here on Friday nights is the best! Loaded with plenty of fried onions and mushrooms served with a baked potato and buffet salad bar with buns, salads, beans etc. Busy place, be sure to make a reservation on Friday nights and Wednesday nights for Wing Night more than 20 different wing flavours to choose from. For lunch they serve the best hearty, homemade soups in generous portions, working in the area make this your lunch stop. All food served here beats the heck out of anything you will find at a restaurant in Stettler or Bashaw for sure!
