The restaurant had a great atmosphere, tables laid out perfectly, friendly staff nothing was too much. Then the food arrived. What Lucie Foucher doesn't like about Auberge de l'Olive:
Déçus par la qualité, l'association des saveurs, la fraîcheur.Les propositions sous forme de mousse se décollaient des bords des verrines, sèchent sur le dessus....., la viande n'était pas fraîche du tout. J'ai beaucoup de mal à comprendre les éloges sur ce restaurant. La cuisine est à l'image de la décoration (outils en bois, assiettes accrochés aux murs, cuivres...) à rafraîchir absolument. We were late deciding to find somewhere to eat but managed to walk in at 8.30pm and get a table for 7. The food was excellent and fixed price menu was 26 euros. The service was o.k but one of the waitress's didn't appear to like a few English visitors enjoying themselves and seemed pleased to see the back of us even though we were not over the top. Maybe she just didn't like English people !!
Very good French regional food. Choice of meat and fish for main course. Nice salad as a starter with a goat cheese. Each will find something good. Creme Brulee the best I have ever ate. I really recomend!
This little restaurant is part of the hotel. We did not have huge expectations, but we were so happy to be AMAZED at our fantastic dinner. Everyone's meal was great, service was great. We speak little French, and they speak little English, but with the typical hand gesturing and pointing (and a translation app on my phone for one thing to ask what a cool piece of furniture used for the silver ware was we all had a great time and a fantastic meal. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
My colleagues and I ended up eating here on a recent trip to Bourbon-Lancy, as the other restaurant they had picked was not open. Very nice restaurant. Hospitality was very good. I ordered the Menu Bourbonnais, with the Café Gourmand. If your used to American beef the texture of the Charolais beef is a little tougher. But the flavor of the dish was excellent. And the Café Gourmand was a surprise, crème brulee, mousse au chocolate, sherbert, a piece of cake, and espresso. After the meal, which I ended up leaving about 1/3 of the steak because I was full, I was not sure I would be able to eat all the desert. But one taste and you could not have kept be from finishing it all. Delicious!! Well done Chef Michel.

The starter was amazing, the thinest most tender cut of beef with a sauce that complemented it perfectly. It tastest divine. Timing was everything, nothing rushed but perfectly timed. The main course was a fish that was soft and tender and at the time I had a sore throat, this was the most perfect taste and texture with just the right accompaniment it looked and tasted delicious. Then came the chocolate mousse, I can honestly say the best one I have ever tasted, not too sweet but the chocolate was like velvet in texture. We then realised why this restaurant was completely full up on a Monday night!!!!
