Absolutely awesome!!!! not only did MamaRosa make our taste buds dance but she made our feet dance !!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I wish we had found Mama Rosa earlier. What an amazing little place in a cute little garden, with soft salsa and bachata music playing. The food is gorgeous, homemade and service is lovely. As vegan/ being plant based it’s been difficult to find anything in Bayahibe not here ! Although there’s nothing vegan on the menu I only had to explain briefly and got a really yummy plate with tostones (fried plantain), frijoles (black beans), aubergines in a red sauce and rice. Couldn’t have been happier! If you’re vegan (and even if you’re not but just want some tasty local food in a cozy setting), put this on your list asap!
Charge us for what we didn't order. Too salty lobsters without any taste and tiny (prawn size) We explain to them that the invoice is not correct but she doesn't want to know anything and misunderstands us with a smirk. Frankly, we have eaten in comedors 100 times better and above all much cheaper. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

We had read some positive reviews about this restaurant and wanted to go there for lunch one day. We always try to experience places that are away from the tourist routes and Mama Rosa was one of these. We took a local bus which, thanks to asking the driver where the restaurant was, kindly dropped us off right in front. Let's say we were stunned because apart from the word Mama Rosa there was nothing that made us think of a restaurant. When she heard us talking, a lady came out and made us sit in an internal courtyard with mismatched tables and a couple of roosters scratching on the gravel and an adoring kitten near a table where 2 tourists were eating fish. We requested lobster and shellfish and the girls at Mama Rosa brought us, after a bit of patient waiting, a huge plate made up of a couple of fish, small lobsters and very tasty local molluscs, lambi. Separately we received a bowl with beans (we had an encore), white rice, seasoned rice and fried plantains. The price of 25 euros each for the place is high, but we ate well and had fun immersing ourselves in the local folklore. Vegetarian options: Rice, beans, sweet potatoes
