Everything you would expect from a typical oyster producer and his cabin. No inside eating area but a huge outside terrace overlooking the chanel, where you can sit and watch the tide come in and out. The seafood was superb and obviosly very fresh. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Arrive at 12 or probably best to book, the place quickly fills up and is often complet. A great experience. View all feedback.
What Elizalit doesn't like about Chez Mamelou:
We were revisiting this cafe after a gap of several years and were looking forward to enjoying the interesting view, after a long bike ride. However, we arrived at the end of the lunch time period (approximately 15.00 hours) and were completely ignored by the staff for approximately 15 minutes so we left. There was no eye contact to show our presence had been registered and certainly no regret expressed at keeping us... View all feedback.

Having heard from friends who had been... This was a ‘no brainer’ to visit. Chez Mamalou is without a doubt the biggest surprise we’ve had since living in France. Le Patron is a Gentleman and all the staff/family are so lovely. Moules l’éclade have got to be tried if you go.. I would guarantee you haven’t tasted anything quite like them. Sweet, Smokey and juicy.. the freshest to eat... anywhere. Gambia’s were beautiful and all of the seafood that I didn’t sample.. but saw being eaten looked incredible. Restaurant is always full... You need to book well ahead.. And the spectacle of a High tide ushering you from your seats at around 3:45pm has to be experienced.. One of our top 3 visits to any Restaurant.. anywhere in the world.. Unique doesn’t come close. Bravo !
We were so happy to find this spot, after visiting some really touristic harbours with ushers outside every restaurant. Here we got the freshest oysters of various sizes and prices with a glass of simple but tasty local white wine. Simple tables outside with a view on the water where the food just were. Very happy with this experience!
Fantastic lunch, the moules à L'eglade are to die for, the gentleman cooking them is one of life's lovely characters. Nothing was too much for any of the staff and bonus....dog friendly!

Don't bother to go somewhere where the staff can be so rude.
