a friend brought me to almina while I was in melbourne. the staff was super friendly and helpful. I went with my friends and suggested what to everyone. we started with grilled halloumi, that was delicious. we had to wait for one to receive our nets. we had shisha and I loved the atmosphere and the music. I could have been sitting there all night. I wouldn't go back in a hurry for eating, it was nice, but a little ri... View all feedback.
What Elias Tillman doesn't like about Almina:
a lamb and chicken mix grill with salad and chips ordered and it was the worst food we have ever ordered. no taste only salty. to add it, missed the delivery the lamb and chicken mix grill with rice. we had to wait an hour to return the order. View all feedback.
If you're visiting Melbourne, this Lebanese restaurant is a must to visit. They open till late on weekends, the food is really good at a reasonable price and the service is good, waterfront location.
We were visiting from Sydney and were delighted to visit this restaurant. The food was delicious as was the Shisha. Being able to smoke and eat in the same place was brilliant! Will definitely return to this!
I came here for a friends 40th. We were in the back private room. The set up was great although the toilets were in bad repair, the staff really didn't seem to have any clue on how to wait on the guests. The menu was share plate that was just left in the middle of the table for the guests to help themselves, but the empty plates were left in the middle of the table course after course, glasses and bottles too. They had to be prompted to clear them. The food absolutely delicious, and it seemed to be the only restaurant in new quay that was open late and serving good past 9:00pm. When left at 11:30 the place was still full and food still coming out. With the quality of the food it's no wonder. The venue supplied a DJ. Great for Lebanese music but had absolutely no idea about Australian music and requests that the birthday girl made were met badly. Surely there is a decent DJ that knows both. It's Melbourne after all. I would come back though just purely for the food.
We came here on Australia Day.We ordered 70 dollars worth of food and drinks for three. Which is a little expensive for what we ended up with It is a nice place however nothing over the top.Food is average They bring out a variance of pita bread from Coles and serve it in a basket in a plastic bag.Service is average The fruit platter has no taste The mix grilled platter is ok Nothing ah mazing My opening title is a quote from one of the waiters
Was in Melbourne for a week and visited this place 3 times! The food is amazing..the lamb shish and the rice with mince in it is amazing! Fish and chips were lovely too (although i had a problem with all the bones). Service is great, the manager/owner is always there and he was keeping an eye out and making sure we had everything we needed. The view from the restaurant is also lovely. A definite must visit if you like lebanese food and want a good night out
