Anyone who wants to experience Salento, try true Salento cuisine, must visit places like this. In a non-touristy village like DISO, where the local old men are almost amazed to see some tourists, I recommend choosing one of the few outdoor places, ordering some local wine, some Salento dishes and experiencing what the real Salento remains for me. The food was very good, the prices more than reasonable. View all feedback.
What Alf Bianchi doesn't like about La Cantina De Lu Ceddhru:
Not a bad restaurant, the presence of certain individuals wandering around looking at everything you do and say is a bit annoying, typical of a suburban village. Good food, a little too abundant, prices in some cases extortionate, sufficient service. To choose if there are no alternatives. View all feedback.
Unfortunately it closed due to the people of the town and the area, if you don't have a pizzeria you don't work, going out 90% means a pizzeria, the area lacks food culture, you still have to give explanations if you go out for dinner, pizza it is allowed because it is laborious to make it at home, but NO, you could make it at home, all the skills of a chef eliminated. In the winter you don't go out, or if you do go out you don't eat in outdoor structures even if they are heated, because they see you more, and also because you want to show up and show off, the area is still rooted in an unspecified century. And typical places of traditional cuisine like this, although excellent, close and open bars, because at the bar you can do everything, even an aperitif which is a dinner, and then say it was an aperitif. Tourists are allowed everything but at this rate they won't come anymore if they have to go back in time, for the people of the area uncontaminated and quiet means 1900...

Outdoor seating in the square in Diso. Excellent and rather quick service. Dishes and drinks served in terracotta plates and glasses, produced by a local company. The homemade appetizers are excellent, the steaks are good and plentiful, and the fried fish is superb! Excellent quality/price ratio.
Personally I felt ridiculed like few other times in the restaurant industry. I was treated like an English tourist in the middle of August in Venice, even though I was simply a rough Salento who went to eat in the month of the dead (November) in a windowless gazebo in a small town in the province of Lecce.. doing the math, taking the prices to extremes in relation to the geography of the place and the context of the structure, comparing it with similar places (and leaving out some courses with very questionable raw materials) I cannot understand the subtotal.. I repeat, I take the prices to extremes by relating them to similar places. .not compared to high class restaurants. Six place settings 9 euros, large water 3 euros, two jugs of house wine 12 euros, large mixed dish (four slices of ham, four cheeses, five zucchini slices, small mozzarella, four pieces with sauce) 16 euros, two pittule dishes 16 euros, mussels cooked in flames 7 euros, five raw Argentine prawns 12 euros, swordfish carpaccio dish 15 euros, chicory and broad bean puree dish 5 euros, orecchiette with tomato sauce for children 7 euros, three mixed roast meats 36 euros, two fried fish 24 euros, a roast squid and three scampi 15 euros. It would be 178 euros in total, We paid 200 euros, without seeing a menu or a menu of the day. God, speechless.
