Stones Throw - DINNER PLAIN
Stones Throw
Description
The recent dining experiences in Dinner Plain reveal a stark contrast between establishments. One venue disappoints with subpar service, outrageous wait times, and mediocre food, leaving patrons feeling undervalued despite hefty bills. In contrast, Hotel High Plain shines as a haven of relaxation, offering friendly staff, stunning views, and delicious meals, including standout pizzas and cocktails. The welcoming atmosphere and attention to customer needs elevate the dining experience significantly. While some establishments grapple with basic service issues and privacy concerns related to online orders, Hotel High Plain stands out for its commitment to outstanding service and quality, ensuring guests feel right at home.

I’m sorry to say that my visit to this restaurant was incredibly disappointing. I don't usually write reviews, but the level of customer service and food quality here was shockingly low. On top of that, there were extra charges for dining on a Sunday and processing fees for ordering via QR code, which reduced any actual customer service effort. We had to wait an astonishing 1 hour and 40 minutes for our meals to arrive — we placed our order at 7:10 PM and finally received it at 8:50 PM. We were never informed that such a long wait was expected; if we had known, we certainly would have chosen a different restaurant. As for the food, it was mediocre at best and definitely not worth the $80 we spent on shared platters. The staff and owners showed no empathy whatsoever when we expressed our disappointment about the long wait. Their response was merely, "Do you want me to get you the rest of your food?" With over $250 spent for a party of four, I wouldn't even give this place a single star. Overall, I strongly advise against wasting your time or money at Stone Throw restaurant due to its appalling service, poor food quality, and steep prices. It was the worst experience I've had, and I believe the operators should reconsider their business model. Service: 1 star.
I had a wonderful stay! Helmut was an excellent host and I can't wait to return. For dinner, I enjoyed the pizza and salad, which were both delicious. Afterward, I had drinks at the bar, where Helmut and his team took great care of us. Overall, I would rate the rooms a 4, the service a 5, and the location a 5. Hotel highlights: fantastic value!
Had a meal here, which was so so. But my actual gripe is that when you order dinner via a QR code, they take your email address and then spam you with marketing. Even though privacy is an illusion these days, this kind of thing really irks me. It's cynical, misleading and infuriating. Service: 2
