We have visited before and really enjoyed our visit but the food is even better now at this, the only Indian restaurant in Dieppe. The poppadums and dips were tasty, the wine was decent and the mains, starters and accompanying dishes were all tasty too,...and well spiced; the king prawns were gorgeous. The staff are very pleasant. It's a welcome change from the vast range of fish restaurants in Dieppe. View all feedback.
What Peter Morgan doesn't like about Taj Mahal:
Indian food is always great, with plenty of veggie options. The restaurant is nicely decorated and very calm. I was only not so impressed by the daal and the naan bread, which is great normally but here it was a bit dry. View all feedback.
Very good traditional eating, not torments, but delicious and fresh. vindaloo great menu super cheap and rich. overall very good.
Large place for the family, or a few, the eating has an authentic taste and smell, made with a lot of flavors
On a trip last year we were going to try this restaurant but in passing,on a Saturday, night it was empty so we ate elsewhere. This year we walked past at lunchtime and early evening and it was quite busy so we thought why not....Our French is reasonable so we de-cyphered the menu, an English translation wasn't offered. On ordering we were given one poppadom between us which had been heated over a flame and burned but undercooked. We ordered a prawn dish and a chicken dish with 2 types of rice. They were served in the smallest dishes I have ever seen in any restaurant anywhere. There were 4 small prawns and 4 very small pieces of chicken but enough rice to feed 6 people. The naan bread was half the size we get back home. What we got was very tasty but not nearly enough. At over 13 Euros we expected more. Don't go if you are ravenous.
We had dinner in this restaurant. To be honest, we are disappointed. the food didn't taste good, for example, the chicken was burned a bit, and the waiter made a very unloved impression on us. For example, when we asked if he spoke English, he reacted very annoyingly. we do not recommend this restaurant.
