Coming for a family meal, the service was a little long. The dishes were good, the meat very well cooked on the other hand I wasn't very fan of the spaetzles house. It was hot in the room but we could go out by the terrace and enjoy the garden which is pleasant to stretch the legs between two dishes. View all feedback.
What Marianne Kuhn doesn't like about Auberge du Cheval Blanc:
Very nice establishment, very good reception, excellent cuisine. Nevertheless, we will not put a higher note, the noise of the ventilation on the terrace was more than embarrassing. Another negative point, the spots on the white table, simply unacceptable for a restaurant of this class, a pity that the beautiful park is not exploited for grilled, plancha or other The potential is here View all feedback.
We were on the way to another restaurant on Saturday when we noticed the sign for the cheval blanc on the roadside and decided to give it a chance because it was much closer. thefmatten is a quite small village with only two restaurants, so we didn't expect too much. When we arrived, we found the big parking lot almost full. they had a jubilee reception, whose participants just arrived. we feared that no table would be available as we were not reserved, but the friendly waiter said we would be very welcome if we were not disturbing the noise level when the party began. the cheval blanc offers a plate du jour, several menus as well as a few à la carte dishes. my wive chose the braided deenleber with a delicious sweet water sauce made of melone, ingwer (I believe) and various other ingredients while I had the plate du jour, which was a vol-au event with a delicious kalbs ragout in a creamy sauce, served with excellent homemade spaetzle. the restaurant has a good selection of wine at the winery. the muskat we tried was a bit on the fertile side, but very well matched with the deenleber and the vol-au-vent did not hurt. despite the whole house the service was fast and friendly. the cheval blanc was an unforgettable experience!
This is a family-run restaurant that offers a very high standard kitchen. the set menus are changed regularly and according to the season. all, even the brot is made to house, and the foie gras and terrine are excellent. we tried most restaurants. in the opposite, but this is by far our favorite.
It is frankly the best restaurant we can make next to the territory of belfort. Very excellent.
Pleasant evening spent with family, very good reception, excellent service, remarkable cuisine. I'm advising. Thank you.
Very friendly and perfect welcome, beautiful terrace frame, table of 5 people: we enjoyed each dish, from the entrance to the dessert and thank the chef and his team for having enjoyed us. very soon
