We ordered the spring rolls, dumplings, satay tofu with vegetables, and fried rice. Overall, our experience was quite pleasant. Our favorite dish was definitely the satay tofu and vegetables. We typically avoid faux meat, and while this restaurant had a variety of meat substitutes on their menu, there were still plenty of options for us. I would happily return just for the satay dish. What NDVegan doesn't like about Utopia Vegan:
We just ordered takeaway. It came out shockingly quick. Then we tasted it and it was dry microwaved which explained why it was so quick. Disappointing. It was late though so maybe they were about to close. Would like to sit in next time as the menu sounds great. But the atmosphere is bad with the TV on. What a delicious noodle soup I ordered. Fresh, large serve, great taste and in a lovely restaurant you can see many were enjoying. My last night in Canberra was sealed with a trip to this place. I really enjoyed my meal!
Mrs had the sweet and sour “soy meat” and I had the egg plant hot pot. Both were very nice and had plenty left over to have tmw for lunch
Spicy Schezwan Chicken was not spicy at all. Food was nice, but quite expensive.
Great fully vegan restaurant, doesn't get as much attention as others but is a really nice quiet place with a Good selection of mock meats and tasty dishes. Nice service too.
We got takeaway several times from Utopia recently and I highly recommend them. The serves were generous and the food delicious. The eggplant hot pot is a favourite of mine, with plenty of tender eggplant in a delicious sauce. I also particularly like the sweet and sour dishes, which are a Vietnamese style that I prefer to the Aussie Chinese restaurant sweet and sour. Other excellent choices are the soups we've had yellow noodle laksa, duck yellow noodle soup and the pho. All are big serves, with mock meats, tofu and vegetables. The chef is very accommodating if you ask for modifications (e.g. no onion) and the owner has been dedicated to serving the vegan and vegetarian community for decades.
