Black Swan Inn
Description
The Black Swan restaurant received mixed reviews from customers, with some expressing disappointment in the quality of the food and service, while others enjoyed a pleasant dining experience. The Sunday roast was criticized for serving tiny portions of beef and unappetizing vegetables, while the burger was considered overpriced and not cooked properly. On the other hand, some guests praised the ambiance of the historic building, the delicious food, and the friendly staff. Overall, the restaurant seems to have a variety of experiences depending on the day and the dishes ordered.

Took my parents to the Black Swan for Mothering Sunday dinner, the food was excellent, two of us had beef wellington, one had mixed grill, and one steak and
The restaurant is nice enough, but I regretted ordering a burger there. The burgers cost around 20 pounds and are served rare, which is suitable for steak but not ideal for a burger. I found it a bit gross, and there is also a potential health risk as bacteria can easily grow in undercooked minced meat. I ended up leaving half of the burger uneaten. The dish came with a small portion of loaded fries, which were okay but didn't make up for the pricey disappointment. Overall, I would rate it 4 out of 10.
My wife, in-laws, and I celebrated my birthday at the Black Swan. It was a wonderful evening from beginning to end. The food and service were excellent, especially the Henry Weston's on tap. We had four main dishes, two desserts, five pints of G&T, and wine. The bill came out to £165, which I felt was fair. The Black Swan is housed in a beautiful old building, making my 54th birthday celebration even more special. I would rate the service as a 5 out of 5.
I had lunch with friends at this restaurant and received fantastic service. The food was top quality and the best I have experienced in many years. I will definitely be returning. I would rate the service and location a 5 out of 5.
We had Sunday roast here in October. I had roast beef..at £25 it was expensive, but I thought it was worth it for the quality and generous portion of beef. So we went back again. ......what a difference!! This time I was served only 2 tiny slices of beef, so only 1 slice really. Last time we had delicious cauliflower cheese ; this time it was an indiscriminate mush of sloppy vegetables. It looked most unappetising and tasted just as bad. This time I thought that £25 was a rip off. We will not risk going back again as we don't know whether we will get the good meal..,.or the bad one!!!
