We celebrated our birthday dinner at the Detroit Club. The ambience of the renovated men's club was wonderful. Food and service was in place like The Detroit Club to expect 5 stars. What once a member was only club for millionaires is now open. We had lunch there and toured the building. It is really a combination museum and you will find culinary experience. What P3546GWjimb doesn't like about The Detroit Club Grille Room:
If you go to their website, you will see pictures of the venue. The ambiance is over the top nice. With that kind of ambiance, the food only has to be passing grade, which it was. Do not get the lobster mac cheese unless you want something more like pasta with an alfredo sauce in a bowl and a few chunks of lobster thrown in. The real downfall of this place is the service. Maybe we just hit it on a bad night. Who know... View all feedback.

Detroit Club is in my three most popular restaurants in Detroit. High quality ingredients and presentation. A perfect service. Beautiful atmosphere and you can have a conversation with your friends without a high level of noise. I will definitely come back
Great place to offer this place a lot. The food in the dining area is great.... The cocktails in the library are really good.... The cigar lounge has a wide selection of cigars and offers a great service. I'm a big fan of this place. They also have hotel rooms where I didn't stay, but from the view of the rest of the place I'm sure they're really great.
This place is beautifully restored to its original glory. Great staff. The Library bartender Mark makes amazing craft cocktails! The cigar bar is great and has a pool table as well. I?m seriously considering membership.
Pricey, but wonderful ambience and experience; we really appreciated the personal touch for my sister birthday and the welcome note and strawberries! The establishment is a wonder and jewel of Detroit. Still progressing, but on their way to 5 stars. Staff is friendly and courteous, but understaffed so not always prompt with service. Needed to call a few times to remind staff for request. They clearly spent much time and thought into refurbishing the hotel. The continental brunch could have been more robust. They are just shy of providing service that would push them to five star... such as offering turn down service without asking and forwarding my spa request to Gina themselves rather than punting that to me. And the spa experience was wonderful. Other positives- the staff are truly proud of their establishment, and that is a rare find. The service of water and coffee outside the rooms is a delightful touch.
What's not to love about this place? You don't know me but you need to trust that, if you have the money, cause this place is not cheap, you owe it to yourself to visit here before it goes back to a private club. And it WILL go private again, sooner rather than later. The ambiance if off the chain. The staff is super professional. The food alone is worthy of the price point. And you will feel like someone turned the clock back and you are in the last century. They have a health club in the basement, a cigar bar on, I think, the third floor and hotel suites on the fourth floor. We were encourage by Ryan, the hotel manager to wonder around and it was incredible. I understand that this is only a very recent renovation project turned public opening and it was accomplished with exquisite taste and decor. So weather you are a local Detroit resident or a visitor from out of town, treat yourself special for a few hours and give the place a go! You will not be sorry....
