This was my first time at this restaurant, and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. I ordered the pork chop dinner with mac and cheese, greens, and cornbread. Everything was seasoned perfectly. The cornbread was a bit too mushy for my taste, but overall, I would definitely order from them again. I would rate the food 5 out of 5 stars. View all feedback.
What Tamika Lane doesn't like about Island Spice Caribbean& American Cuisine:
I called there and this Lady had a attitude getting smart with me and hanging up the phone. Don't go there I recommend it. I asked her what's the difference between a small or a large dinner. The Last time I went there.I got three tiny oxtails with large sides. She wouldn't let me speak manager about the situation. I will take my money to someone who appreciates it. View all feedback.
4/17/23, I decided to go in person and order instead of door dash; food is usually great. Not this time. I waited about 8 minutes in line to order, paid $27 for large curry chicken w/ extra gravy, side plantain, and coco bread. I received one small leg, 4 broken backs w/ spine/rib bones included. I probably got about 1 -1/2 lbs of rice and beans?? I thought I was getting a large curry chicken and my container had more rice than meat. No whole thigh, no wing, no whole breast. Just a lot of chicken carcass. The place had about 4 or 5 customers when I arrived inside and about 3 more came in after I placed my order, but my order was ready in about 7 minutes. I should have known something was off when my food was ready before people who were already in there. Very disappointing. I wasted my gas and money because I threw it out. Plantain was great. Humble Recommendation: Treat all customers the same, because you never know who you are serving. I order on door dash so I know what usually come w/ large curry chicken. I paid $18- 19 bucks for a plate full of small bones, very little meat and rice. Never again.
Homemade pineapple ginger juice was delicious but pricey at $4. All there food I ordered was good but not great. Beef patties tasted good but filling was too wet for my taste. Meal was $13. Brown stew chicken was lacking flavor but was still good. Cabbage was great. I will return when I'm on this side of townFood: 4/5
Can't wait to return. We thought we were gonna spend $60+ and it came out a lot cheaper. Very affordable especially with their lunch special. The portions were huge for the price. The OMG cake rightfully has earned its name. We were definitely impressed! There's another side of the restaurant that offers a plethora of seating and a few table games.
Oxtail, rice , j wings. The oxtail was okay. Some parts was dry. The j wings had a little spice to them. The rice was delicious with the juice from the meat on top. The cabbage was not soft. It was crunchy and chewy. I spent $32. I would come back for a 2nd try. Plantains was sweet
Sooo good pork chops fried just right and the beef patties are very good
