Good Times On The Ave - Detroit

I visited this restaurant with my husband. We were walking by and noticed them. We decided to dine with them because we?ve heard people talk about them. The ambiance seemed nice. We sat outside in the patio area. We ordered the parmesan chicken wings and chicken pasta. The wing dings were huge. The food was salty. The waitress did not check on us, we had to flag her down each time we needed help. To top it all off, when my husband bit into his last wing ding, blood squirted out. It looked like he had cut himself. I was very upset. When I informed the waitress, after again flagging her down, she was very nonchalant. She said she would give us a discount. The bill was $40, she took off $2. They also charge an automatic 15% gratuity. I won?t be back.

I?m in Michigan visiting so My son suggested we eat here , very nice atmosphere and nice establishment. We ordered our food every one food came except mines all I chicken and waffle they had full meals they was able to finish they food and I was still waiting on waffles and chicken!!!!!!???????? people who ordered and sat down after we was at our table got chicken and waffles ???? and I spoke with the manager a black male who was very nonchalant about it !!! So I never got my food because my people was finish eating!! We left but bottom line if I was in the suburbs on God they would took care of the problem with no problem!!!!!!

The food was good. I had the creole shrimp and grits. It is a little over -priced but I saw past that since it was black-owned. Our waitress never checked up on us, we had to flag down other waiters to get ours. If they wait staff was better and I would give more stars. They also charge an automatic 15% tip for parties of 1-3 and 20% for parties of 4 or more.

I would?ve given 5 stars but the chicken was a little salty for my liking. I also had the vegetable spring rolls and shrimp grits. The food was delicious (besides the salty wings) the service was amazing! Definitely will go back and patronize

Loved the 14oz Ribeye with the garlic mashed potatoes and asapragus! (Tried to call in an order for one this evening at 8:47 but the kitchen closed at 8:30 ????????????
