Fishbone's Greektown - Detroit

I made a reservation on OpenTable but it wasn't honored at the restaurant. We were told by the hostess that they don't really use OpenTable and that they were overbooked, resulting in a 40 minute wait. The management also stated that they don't rely on OpenTable for reservations.

Waitress was dry and inattentive, food was lukewarm as soon as it was brought to the table, not a very classy seating situation either.

Reservation for 6 people. Appetizers were good. Dinner entrees were served cold. The waitress didn't come back to check on us for quite a while. Food had to be sent back. Waters were not filled back up. When it came time to pay, the restaurant would not split the bill (2 families). A 20% gratuity is automatically added to parties of 6 or more. The bill had both a 20% gratuity AND an 18% gratuity added. Good thing we caught that. The waitress was handling several tables not her fault she didn't check on us as often as she should have, but to mandate a 20% gratuity for not so great service isn't the best practice, let alone add both an 18% a 20% gratuity. Thankfully we caught that on the bill and addressed it, but it makes us wonder how many customers do not catch that double dip.

Staff at the hostess counter were a little too into their own conversation. We seemed to be a bother to them. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. I ordered the salmon and it was delicious. One person in our party ordered the Jambalaya and it was not liked. Hardly had any rice in it.

I ordered an expensive filet at the restaurant and asked for it to be cooked medium. Unfortunately, it came out more medium rare than I had requested, making it difficult to cut in some spots and chew. I was very disappointed with my meal.
