Ice House - Detroit Lakes

We usually hop on the buffet. Don't wait. The custom Omelettes and Gravy a cookie are delicious. They're short staff, but they're all. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Great view and breeze on the terrace.

While staying at Holiday Inn, we ordered 3 times room service from the connected Ice House Restaurant. Our first order was appetizers, Artichoke Dip, chicken quesadilla and Hamburger Slider, came within 10 minutes, delicious and hot. The next day we ordered dinners, burgers and nachos. In our room hot within 15 minutes. Burger was delicious, but afteros we LOADED, LOADED, LOADEd prepared with both red and green paprika. Even if menu advertised paprika, there were too many for myself to eat a pepper lover like me. Unfortunately, 90% of the nachos were unaffected. Unable to remove because the overfill of chopped peppers were infused in molten cheese. Breakfast on our 3rd day Walleye Benedict and made to omelette arrived in our room in 25 minutes warm and fresh. Once again, the pan potatoes were absolutely loaded with green and red peppers, but able to work them in this meal. Eggs were made delicious. Walleye was sadly destroyed with enough Hollandaise sauce for 5 dishes! Great. The worting on the Walleye was so strong that it even scratched off was no help. However, the hash brown side was really delicious. Half the Walleye meal was left to swim on my plate in Hollandaise. We enjoyed the convenience of hotel room service, but the contact with the restaurant to place an order is an ABSOLUTE Pain! Even after the reception when trying to call either the bar or the restaurant, it took over half an hour each time when we ordered to get someone to answer their phone to place our order. Surprising. Meals are very expensive, but appetizers and breakfast menu are worth the price. Remember to say light on the paprika! if you order!! This restaurant has a beautiful outdoor terrace right on the beach of the lake, but we chose room service to eat our meals on our hotel room balcony overlooking the beautiful lake.

Very generous portions. The food was great and the service was amazing. The garlic potatoes were a little sweet, so not sure if we like it. But everything else was great.
